- How do I view the grades I have entered in Applecore?
- Click the “Report Grades” button next to your student’s name to see the grades you have entered or to enter additional grades.
- Does HomeLife Academy have the grades I have entered into Applecore? Are my grades saved?
- Applecore is integrated into your HomeLife Academy account. As soon as you enter your grades, HLA has them available and can see your entries. They see what you are seeing. Applecore is a part of HomeLife Academy. No need for other logins.
- Do I need to enter my grades from Homeschool Reporting Online (HSRO)?
- If you have high school students, we recommend that you enter your student’s high school grades into Applecore. If you have a junior or senior with a large amount of course descriptions, portfolio entries, etc then you may want to consider staying with HSRO to graduate. If you have elementary students, we recommend that you print the student’s grades for your files and begin entering the current school year into Applecore. We are already finding that many families are entering all the grades because the system is so simple to use. (For more information on HSRO, see below.)
- Where are grades I have entered into Homeschool Reporting Online? Will they be transferred into Applecore?
- Grades you have previously entered in HSRO will remain there, and you will have access to them; however, HSRO recommends printing a paper copy of your grades for your files.
- We recommend printing your K-8th grades for your files. Feel free to send us a copy to put in your file if you would like.
- For any school year with HIGH SCHOOL credits, we recommend entering those grades into the new Applecore system.
- HSRO uses a different programming system which will not allow us to easily import your current grades over from their system. Our developers are looking into a way to convert this data into our new system. Please let us know if you have other questions.
- What about my portfolio/attendance entries that I have entered into HSRO? Will they be transferred to Applecore?
- Portfolio and attendance that you have previously entered in HSRO will remain there and you will have access to them; however, HSRO recommends printing a paper copy of your grades and other information for your files.
- You may easily enter past attendance grades into Applecore by taking the total number of days and dividing them by semester and entering them under the Attendance tab at the top of your Applecore home page.
- You will be able to copy and paste your entries into the Applecore portfolio when that feature is available. The portfolio is one of our Future Development features so we are expecting that to be ready for your very soon. Please note that if you are an upcoming junior or senior, you may want to continue to use HSRO to finish up if you have a large amount of entries in your student’s portfolio.
- HSRO uses a different programming system which will not allow us to easily import your current attendance over from their system. Our developers are looking into a way to convert this data into our new system. Please let us know if you have other questions.
- How do I enter my grades if I school year around?
- We require you to report grades by January 15th and June 15th of each school year. If you school year around, there are a couple of choices. We would prefer you to divide your school year so that you can report on the recommended grade reporting dates. To do this you could make your FALL grade reporting period Jun-Dec and report January 15th and your SPRING grade reporting period Jan-May and report June 15th. Your other option could be that you report at the end of each school year by choosing School Year under Semester when you report your grades.
- Why are some of my students listed more than once?
- You may see a student’s name listed more than once. Your student’s names are pulled directly from the HLA database. If you have, by accident, added the student when you have re-enrolled, that student will show up twice. If you have this happen, please contact the HLA Records office by phone 888-560-0774 or email records@homelifeacademy.com and we will be happy to resolve this issue.
- Why are my graduated/withdrawn student(s) listed?
- As stated above, your student’s names are pulled from the HLA database. All students who you have had enrolled with us are listed in your family account. At this time, we are not able to differentiate or hide those withdrawn or graduated students. This is something that we are working on updating.
- Help! What if I have entered all of my courses under the wrong school year?
- Don’t worry! Just click on Add Year and edit the year that you put the student’s courses under to the correct year and/or grade level. Example: You entered Johnny’s 2011/12 9th grade courses under 2010/11 8th grade. Edit the 2010/11 school year and change 2010/11 to 2011/12 and change 8th grade to 9th grade. You do not have to delete and enter them again.
