Punkin in the treatment area
The equipment that irradiates the tumor - the animal is on the table and the equipment rotates to different positions around him/her. punkin got radiation from 8 different positions to target the tumor as accurately as possible without damaging any of his brain more than necessary.
this is the cradle for the animal. the white pillow-type thing holds their head & neck in position. the bite piece holds their teeth in place (note the ridges that conform to the ridges of a palate) and the mesh piece clips down over the head to hold the animal still.
Dr. Lynn Griffin, Radiation Oncologist, Chris Schneider 4th year intern and Dr Jessica Timian, Small Animal Medicine
and punkin, of course!
