GOURMET- & Wine Tour / Burgenland

5 days / 4 nights

From March to June & September to end of October

Day 1:

Flight to Vienna

Luxury bus ride to the wine region of Burgenland during which time

there will be a brief introduction into Austria's wine industry and the economy. A visit and guided tour of the Esterházy castle and its wine estate, including a wine tasting. Check in for 4 nights at the seaside resort of Rust. During the evening a 5 course dinner will be provided at the restaurant “Burgerhaus” in Rust

Day 2:

Following your first Austrian breakfast we will be heading just outside Rust for a wine tasting at Feiler-Artinger. A small 3 course lunch will also be put on for us at a the “Greisslerei Eselbock” Restaurant in neighbouring Schutzen. An afternoon wine tour is planned, which will include Prieler Estate in Schutzen and Schonberger winery in Morbisch.

A 5 course dinner will be provided at Restaurant “Rusterhof” in Rust.

Day 3:

Following breakfast we will again “hit” the road by bus and head off – this time to the other side of the lake “Neusiedlersee” where we plan to visit Heinrich Estate.There will be a 3 course lunch prepared for us in the famous inn “Zur Dankbarkeit” in Podersdorf.During the afternoon we will be doing tastings at the Umathum Estate in Frauenkirchen and at the Pittnauer Estate in Gols. A 5 course dinner will be provided on the seaside terrace of the “Mole West” Restaurant in Neusiedl.

Day 4:

After breakfast, we will travel around the southern part of the lake and visit Gesellmann Estate in Deutschkreutz , which is just a stone’s throw from the Hungarian border. There will be time for a quick snack, for those hungry, before visiting Igler Estate in Deutschkreutz and Kerschbaum Estate in Horitschon. In the evening, a meal will be provided – degustation menu - at one of the finest restaurants in the country, “Taubenkobel” in Schutzen.

Day 5:

After a late breakfast, and checking out, a luxury bus trip will see us back to Vienna. Depending on time available, there might be an option to visit the famous all year funfair “Prater” with its giant ferris wheel, and possibly having lunch in one of its cabines. Alternatively there will be provision for a transfer straight to the airport.
