THE CHIMES // Videographer
Basic function and responsibility:
A Chimes videographer is responsible for shooting and doing the major editing for at least one video a week. This person shoots raw footage and does interviews. Videographers work closely with the video producer, who is directly in charge of videographers. The ideal candidate is a visual journalist, exceptionally creative and technologically savvy.
1. Shoot at least one assigned video a week.
2. Meet all deadlines assigned by video producer.
3. Stay on top of campus news.
Supervision Received: Video producer
Supervision of Others: No direct supervision of others.
General: Strong video editing skills and news sense. Flexible attitude. Demonstrate superior knowledge of computer programs such as YouTube, PhotoShop, and Final Cut Pro. Good interpersonal skills.
Education and Experience: At the time of election or appointment, must attend or accepted to Biola as a full-time student. Prior experience working with newspapers, yearbook, magazines or prior work, class experience, or journalism is preferable. Prior work or class experience in video editing and journalism/film production is necessary.
Hours Worked: 10 - 12 hours, duration of the semester (This is a scholarship-based position, with a $1,000-per semester scholarship. Scholarship amount is subject to change.)
