The Session Meeting of Westminster Presbyterian Church was called to order by Moderator, Rev. Derek Starr Redwine, at 8:00 p.m. (after Committee meetings).

Pastor Derek opened the meeting with prayer.
2011-60 Motion prevailed to approve the minutes of the regular Session meeting of Tuesday, August 23, 2011.

2011-62 Motion prevailed to receive the following report of all weddings, funerals, baptisms, and communions that have taken place since session’s previous meeting:

Rich Lucas reported that YTD we are $1,100 in the black as of the end of August..
The following motion was brought by Don Rearick (Moderator):
2011-65 Motion prevailed to revise the Personnel Policy of Westminster Presbyterian Church as follows: (a) Revise p. 11 to reduce the total number of accumulated medical leave days to a maximum of 60 days from 90 days; (b) to remove pages 28, 29 and 30 from the Policy manual and maintain the revised language as proposed as a separate document, distributed only to ordained ministers on staff.
Personnel Policies are available for review in the Church office.
Cindy Weiss brought the following motion:
2011-66 Motion prevailed that half of the offering taken during Rev. Amy Starr Redwine’s Installation Service at 12:15 p.m. on October 9, 2011, be given to the Compassion Fund of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Outreach will be meeting on Sunday, October 16, 11:45, in Room 106.
Virginia Melver brought the following motion:
2011-67 Motion prevailed to hire DanMar Services, LLC, to perform WYDACA Flood Repair, not to exceed $4,500.00. Charge to Maintenance Insurance Fund.
2011-68 Motion prevailed to hire Crisp Company to replace, change, and update church locks for $5,500.00, money to come from the Fouse Charitable Lead Trust fund.
2011-69 Motion prevailed to paint the Wright-Herberich Hall wall (the one with the TV screen) and to paint the trim, ceiling and wall areas in the area behind the chancel for $4,042.00, money to come from the Fouse Charitable Lead Trust fund.
2011-70 Motion prevailed via email for an expenditure of up to $2,000 from the Wilson Christian Education ($1,102), Kaufmann PCUSA ($751), and H. Jay Christian Education funds ($523) to purchase the streamlined version of Bible Story Room curriculum and other needed supplies to adapt the room for its use.
Report from Pastor Derek
2011-71 Motion prevailed to approve the baptism of Leo (Gehring) Scheff on Sunday, December 5, 2011. Grandparents are members Barbara and David Gehring.
Budget worksheets should be in to the office by October 16, 2011. Committees told to use the same subtotal amount as 2011. Committees also need to indicate where a 5% decrease would come from and where a 5% increase would be placed. Include dreams for what your committee would like to do. A draft budget will be approved by Session in December.
