Volunteers Needed!

The Sac Etsy Team could use more volunteers! Please have the appropriate experience or the necessary information when volunteering for a particular task.

Advertising Coordinator(s) - this could be recruiting Etsy sellers (all Etsy sellers, not just Team members) to advertise on the Team Blog, and getting those ads posted (ads = Etsy mini’s). Advertising also includes promoting the Team on other web sites (banner ads). Volunteer will be expected to make contacts with other Etsy sellers and/or owners of web sites, so should have adequate grammar and spelling skills.

Blog Authors - writing, mostly ... accompanied by photos where appropriate.  If  you have an idea for a one-time blog post or, better yet, an on-going blog feature, let’s talk! We've tried to do "artist interviews" with Team members in the past, however that met with only limited success (this may just take someone to stay on top of it with friendly persuasion!) We could also do "studio tours" (by photo) if there's any interest. Blog authors are required to have excellent grammar and spelling skills.

Craft Fair Manager - From time to time the Team discusses the possibility of holding its own craft fair. This volunteer would work with the Team Captain to make arrangements for such an event. This volunteer might also be interested in working with craft fair promoters to secure an area for Sac Etsy Team members to set up together. Volunteer needs to have adequate time to fulfill this task.

Facebook Moderator - Fan pages of new Team members need to be added to the Team FB page. You would post about Team activities, craft fairs in which Team members are participating, and other relevant tidbits which can be gleaned from the Sac Etsy Team forum posts. Volunteer is required to have excellent grammar and spelling skills.

Pinterest Coordinator - Oversees the Team’s presence on Flickr. Occasionally reminds Team members of the Team’s presence on Flickr. Pinterest board is on a former member’s account, so we may need to start over? Volunteer needs to have adequate time to fulfill this task.

Flickr Coordinator - Oversees the Team’s presence on Flickr. Occasionally reminds Team members of the Team’s presence on Flickr. Volunteer needs to have adequate time to fulfill this task.

Meetup Coordinator - Meetups could be anything from coffee to a potluck to a crafting party where we get together to share skills. Other teams often have fairly "major" monthly events and then occasional little events now and then in-between. This could be divided between 2 or more people. Event planning skills would be an awesome match for this volunteer position.

Publicity/PR Coordinator - It would be awesome to have a volunteer to work with local media! To be successful in this position, you should have local media contacts or be willing to make them. Volunteer should be comfortable with public and impromptu speaking as opportunities to appear on local television and/or radio may present themselves.

Team Shop Coordinator - This volunteer will add new member’s shops as favorites to the Team's Etsy shop (http://www.etsy.com/people/sacetsy). This volunteer would also monitor for Team members shops which are inactive or which have disappeared altogether. Volunteer would contact owner of inactive shops to determine if member intends to remain on the Sac Etsy Team. Notify Team Captain regarding members who need to be removed from the Team. Good communication skills are necessary for this task.

Treasury Curators - Can there be too many Team Treasuries? Volunteer(s) will post their Team Treasuries to the Team blog ("author" access to the blog will be provided). Of course anyone is also welcome to make a Team Treasury at any time, and if you let us know about it, we’ll try to get it added to the Team blog! Volunteers offering to curate periodic Team Treasuries should have adequate time to devote to this task.

Twitter Moderator (aka Team Tweeter) - If you like to “Tweet,” we could use someone to tweet and re-tweet about the Team and Team member’s shops! We have a Twitter account (http://twitter.com/sacetsy), though the Team Captain has forgotten the password. Team Tweeters are required to have excellent grammar and spelling skills.

If you can think of something else that would benefit the Sac Etsy Team, let's talk!
