Questions to Consider

     In the short story “Jacobs’s Rules,” the main characters and their friends were encouraged to conform to societal dating rules.  What were some of these rules?  Why are these rules difficult for Marimba and Brandon to obey?  Are there times in society when it is better to conform than other times?  By the end of the story, Marimba and Brandon conform to a dating rule established by one another.  Do they make the right decision to conform?  Why or why not?

     In a two chunk paragraph, clearly state your interpretation of the story explaining if Marimba and Brandon made the right decision to conform to the dating rules established by one another.  Support your decision with evidence from the story.  Be sure to use a quote to support each main point.
