NOTICE OF RACE
1.1 The series will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing 2009-2012.
1.2 The following United States Sailing National Prescriptions will not apply: 60, 63.2, 63.4.
1.3 The Ideal 18 class rules will apply.
1.4 No changes shall be made to the standing rigging of any boat.
1.5 The Organizing Authority is the Pequot Yacht Club.
2 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
The regatta is open to female competitors 18 years of age and older.
3.1 A completed entry form with entry fee of $90 must be received by July 9th, 2012.
3.2 Late entries may be accepted if there is room. To inquire about registering after the date listed above, contact a regatta chairperson. The entry fee for late entries is $110.
3.3 All sailors are encouraged to become members of the Ideal 18 Class Association by contacting:

Sailor must submit the registration form no later than July 9th, 2012..
4.2 The schedule of events is as follows::

4.3 No warning signal will be made after 1500.
5.1 All boats shall be wet sailed. Dock lines and fenders will be supplied by competitors.
5.2 Trailers will be stored at Pequot YC.
6 HOUSING, MEALS, AND LOCAL TRANSPORTATION
6.1. Housing, if requested, will be provided for the night of Wednesday, July 11th, 2012.
6.2 Morning snacks, lunch and refreshments at the reception will be provided by Pequot Yacht Club.
6.3 Local transportation, if required, will be provided by the housing host.
7 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The sailing instructions will be available on July 1st, 2012 on the Pequot Yacht Club website at http://www.pequotyc.com. (go to SAILING -> ONE DESIGN FLEET -> RACING)
8.1 Attachment A shows the location of the regatta harbor.
8.2 Attachment B shows the location of the racing areas.
9 THE COURSES
9.1 Course diagrams will be posted on the official regatta notice board. The course will be hailed by the race committee or shown on a white board utilizing alphanumeric designations before the warning signal.
9.2 Alphanumeric Course Coding
M = Modified course (start/finish line is between the windward and leeward mark)
L or W following an M indicates position of finish line (W = finish to windward, L = finish to leeward)
L or W without an M preceding it indicates a windward/leeward course, with the W or L indicating position of finish line. The windward mark and/or the leeward mark will also be the pin end of the start/finish line.
(number) = number of WINDWARD legs to be completed
Examples: MW2 = windward/leeward/finish to windward. (start/finish line is set between the windward and leeward marks)
L2 = windward/leeward/windward/finish to leeward. (pin end of the start/finish line is the same as the leeward mark)
ML2 = windward/leeward/windward/finish downwind. (Start/finish line is set between the windward and leeward marks)
9.3 Example course diagrams are available here as Attachment C.
10.1 The low point scoring system will be used.
10.2 Three (3) races are required to be completed to constitute a regatta.
10.3 (a) When fewer than five (5) races have been completed in a day of racing, a boat's daily series score will be the total of her race scores.
(b) When five (5) or more races have been completed in a day of racing, a boat's daily series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.
11 RADIO COMMUNICATION
Except in an emergency, a boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones.
Prizes will be awarded to the skipper and crew of the top three finishers.
13 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
As a condition of the participation of any boat in any race or related activity sponsored or undertaken by the Pequot Yacht Club, the owner, helms-person and each crew-member agree that the safety of the boat and the crew and the decision whether or not to start or continue to race is solely their responsibility. Each of them waives all claims which he or she, or any heir, representative, successor or assignee, may have against the Pequot Yacht Club and each of their officers, trustees, members, committees, employees or agents, arising out of or in any way connected with participation in such a race or activity. Responsibility for evaluating wind, sea and weather conditions rests with each competitor as does the responsibility for the safe condition and operation of their boat including safety equipment and rigging and for wearing a life jacket. Assistance from the race committee, patrol boats, or other support boats and from personnel aboard them is at the risk of the participant.
