Dear Summit Racers,

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we have had to adjust our schedule this year. Unfortunately, it puts us in a very difficult spot with our all our racers. We know you had to cancel some of your plans and change others.  As you know, Summit racers are known to be some of the most passionate racers in the country. This is why this has been such a difficult decision for the Speedway.  Just know that we are working hard to secure the future of the only consistently running quarter mile in Southern California and we plan staying here for a long time.

We are NOT closing our doors but, we must adapt to our circumstances and continue to work diligently on this issue.  As many of you already know, we had to take the remaining Summit races off the schedule. This does not in anyway change the commitment of the Speedway towards the Summit Racers. We still plan on sending a team to Las Vegas, where the ET Finals will now be held. We also plan on having a banquet and do all the things we normally do before these changes occurred. As for points, they are as stands. We will be contacting the Summit Team racers to represent Auto Club Dragway.

I want to thank all the racers who have shown support in this turbulent time. Your patience will be rewarded with continuation of some of the best drag racing in the country.

In the mean time, if your car is muffled and complies with track standards, you may run at the PSCA Race July 2-3 and NMCA/NMRA Race July 8-10. Please contact the track for details.

Sincerely,

Mark Dawson
