The CSPromod 1.09 Deathmatch test weekend will last from 23rd March until 23:59 UTC of 25th March. After this time, the mod will not be launchable, and all servers will automatically shutdown.
This test is not representative of the final product, and we know that bugs exist at the moment (see the Known Bugs section below). In fact throughout the weekend we will still be working hard on deathmatch and the game in general. This “test weekend” is to find any more bugs that we have not caught in internal testing, and to show a sneak peak of CSPromod 1.09 to the community.
The changelog of CSP 1.09 is extensive and includes a multitude of changes. However, for brevity, they will not be listed in this document (changelogs take time to write up, and pointless for a single weekend).
The CSPromod team will be active on many of the servers on a near 24/7 basis. Any griefers or exploiters will be caught and banned from all future public tests.
As a tester, you will be able to run your own listen servers. However, they will not be visible on the master server list or server browser to prevent other testers mistaking it as an official server.
In the final release of CSP 1.09, listen servers will be public as normal.
During internal testing, it has come to our attention that predicted attacks are not always correct. If you are experiencing issues with “false deaths” (i.e. when shooting a player, they appear to die, but then come back to life) regularly, then disable predicted deaths using the “cl_predict_deaths 0” command. This may happen if you have a high ping (i.e. over 100ms). We recommend swapping servers before disabling predicted deaths, as this will degrade gameplay experience on high latency connections.
Note: It is not recommended that predicted attacks (cl_predict_attacks) are disabled under any circumstance.
The csp_developers command can be used when in-game to list any CSPromod team members playing amongst you. Developers will also be visible by their orange names (as opposed to the white/red/blue names of other players) in-game. This may be useful if you find a bug and wish to tell a member of the team immediately. If no team members are present on the server, please report any bugs you find on the forums.
Bloggers/news writers: please link to this document, and not the download! Testers need to read this document before playing.
