Rev. Gregory J. Edwards serves as the founding and Senior Pastor of the Resurrected Life Community Church in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He is a native of the state ofNew Jersey and a graduate of Geneva College, the University of Delaware’s Graduate School in Urban Affairs and Public Policy, and Drew University. He has earned the Bachelor of Science degree in Urban Ministry, certification in Community Economic Development and a Master of Divinity degree in Theology. Deeply concerned and moved by the mass incarceration of African American and Latino men and its impact on families and communities, he is matriculating at the New Brunswick Theological Seminary for the Doctorate in Ministry degree in the area of Prisons, Public Policy and Transformative Justice.

Under Pastor Edwards’leadershipResurrected Life Community Church moved to the city of Allentown,took ownership of the former St. Michael's Evangelical Lutheran Church, its educational facilities, and several parking lots. Now approaching its 10th year of ministry, Resurrected Life is a seven day a week ministry, employing 25 staff, and offers a myriad of different ministries focused towards the spiritual, emotional, and economic resurrection of men, women, children, youth and families within the community and throughout the region.

Pastor Edwards multifaceted mindset is reflected in the numerous community development initiatives established under his leadership. He is the founder and CEO of the Resurrected Community Development Corporation (RCDC), a 501 (c) non-profit organization dedicated to the deliverance of disadvantaged urban neighborhoods from decades of discrimination, deprivation, and disrepair with a vision of creating communities of equity, excellence and empowered residents.  RCDC is the umbrella organization for the Resurrected Life Children's Academy; a private licensed pre-school, the College Bound Kidz Program; a comprehensive after school arts and tutoring program, and facilitates community engagement and community organizing for the Allentown Promise Neighborhood. RCDC offers a variety of other community based programming done in collaboration with the Allentown School District, the Allentown Promise Neighborhood, the United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley, College Tutors and Nannies, the Lehigh Valley Hospital Network, Community Health Division, and St. Luke’s Hospital.

Pastor Edwards serves as a Trustee for the Swain School,and the Seven Generations Charter School, and currently serves on the boards of the Promise Neighborhoods of the Lehigh Valley, the Old Allentown Preservation Association, Preventive Measures Mental Health Associates, and the Lehigh Valley Hospital board of associates.

As an insightful speaker who intentionally ties the moral compass of his faith to all facets of life, systems and social determinants, Pastor Edwards has presented to a variety of audiences within the faith, non-profit, academic, and corporate sectors. His leadership with non-profits and work in the field of fatherhood, male involvement and relationship education has been highlighted in TIME Magazine (Nov. 2004 ed.)  and he has served as a member of the Fatherhood Advisory Committee for the US Department of Health and Human Services.

In addition to being pastor, scholar/practitioner, Pastor Edwards is a composer and professional musician who has performed with a virtual list of who’s who in the music industry including Ray Charles, and Lionel Hampton. He is an Endorsing Artist for the Selmer (Paris) Saxophone Company, and uses the power of music as a vehicle to reach, heal and inspire the soul of audiences of all colors and ages.

Pastor Edwards is married to Denyse Hicks Edwards and are blessed have four children.
