What can you learn about an object when you look at it and touch it?

- Whole Group: Name the objects pictured.

- Small Group: Display objects and have children describe the objects first without touching them and then by touching them.

- Independent Practice: Have children repeat the activity again independently by using their sense of sight and use a magnifying lens and tell how different they look now.

- Name your 5 senses.

- How can you use your senses to describe the object?

- How do you use these objects every day? Tell how it is used and how it feels to the touch.

Children will use their sense of sight to investigate eye color found most frequently among the boys and girls in the classroom.

What can you investigate with your sense of sight?

- Whole Group: Complete a prediction graph about which eye color the boys and girls have the most in the class.

- Pair Share: Use a magnifying glass to identify the eye color of their partner.

- Whole Group: Complete an eye color graph.

- What eye color do you think will be the most common in our class?

- If we visited another classroom, would we find the same eye color more than any of the others? Why? Why not?
