AGR120: Sesame Oil Production and Exportation

Description: The project is the construction 500 square meters building and the installation of a press with capacity of 40 kilograms per hour, a filter with capacity of 300,000 liters per day and laboratory equipment for quality control of the oil. Production for the year 1 programmed at 6.400 barrels (220 liters) and on the tenth year of production it will reach 11.200 barrels.  The production will be marketed with the United States or European countries at a price of $ 800 per barrel. In the local market sesame cakes will be sold at a price of U.S. $ 7.2 per qq. The project presents an excellent profitability. In addition there is a program to promote the crop until 20,000 manzanas are in production, by 2020.

Description: This project is contemplated to meet the need of genetic improvement in dairy and beef cattle due to the demands of national and international markets, this center focuses on obtaining the best genetic material from different races that would favor domestic producers and the external demand. Likewise, training services will be provided, as well as artificial insemination, and genetic material will be sold as frozen or on foot. The main center will be in Olancho, and the other ones will be regional offices affiliated to the same. The genetic material will be held in this first center.

Description: The proposal is to develop a Bovine Meat production and exports system. For this purpose, the first project component contemplates the installation of a stabled livestock production farm with the capacity to handle 400 animals that will produce meat production of at least 160,000 Kg per year. The rest of the raw material needed to cover the plant needs will be supplied through independent producers.

The volume of meat produced and purchased will be manufactured in different ways, in a processing plant with the capacity of receiving and processing 300,000 Kg. of meat per year. This plant will be certified to meet the legal provisions of both Honduras and the destination markets.

El equipo necesario para la operación de estas pequeñas plantas tienen un costo estimado de unos US $ 600,000.00 con lo cual se puede procesar unos 187,200 galones anuales, lo que significa un producción primaria de unas 230 hectáreas de piñón (Jatropha curcas) que son perfectamente identificables en diferentes puntos de Honduras. El precio de venta del galón de biocombustible de piñón en Honduras es de US $ 3.40, lo que se traduciría en ventas de alrededor de US $ 636,480.00 anuales. El costo de inversión de una hectárea de piñón en Honduras es de alrededor de US $ 630.00 el primer año, posteriormente su mantenimiento es de US $ 342.00 anuales, para establecer una integración vertical para asegurar el flujo constante de materia prima.

FOR205: Teca Tectona Grandis Forest Plantation with Commercial Purposes in the Pacific Region of Hon

Description: This project consists in the establishment of Teak wood (Tectona Grandis) commercial plantations in 4,958 hectares located in private properties in the municipalities of Namasigue (Village of San Bernanrdo) and El Triunfo (Village of San Juan and Las Haciendas). The sites proposed are flat, of easy access to the Pan-American road to Nicaragua and El Salvador. The communities provide labor specialized in reforestation tasks, which will facilitate the establishment, rational use and commercialization of the products from the plantation.  The final production of timber will be exported through the Port of Henecan, located 100 kilometers from the plantation site.

FOR401: Pacific Dry Forest

Description: The Experimental Station of Santa Rosa has 112 manzanas, from which 90% are covered by forests; one part is covered by a secondary forest and the rest with experimental plantations, seed farms and clon gardens. In the plantations there are 15 valuable forest species of the dry forest and at least six usable species in the secondary forest; 130 birds have their shelter in this station and at least 20 mammals, from which a feline has been identified in the CITES (Convention on International Trade of Threatened Wild Fauna and Flora Species) list. Potentially, the Santa Rosa Station will have enough biological and forest resources and an enabling geographic location, therefore the development of a project for sale of genetic material and certified seed is proposed.

D.1. Infrastructure (Road Concessions)

INF104: Concession of the Construction, Operations and Maintenance of the Tegucigalpa - Jícaro Galán

Description: Construction, operation and maintenance of 86 Km of road, to 2 lanes, in process of completing its rehabilitation and improvement. It is necessary to conduct a study and the rehabilitation, adequate maintenance is necessary through a concession and inclusion in the study cost. In addition, it is important to add and improve the access roads of this road and a study of the new alternative exit form Tegucigalpa to Jícaro Galán. This Highway is the most important means of integrating the South Region with the rest of the country.  About one fifth of the national population lives in the influence zone of the South Highway and it is the only means of land communication that maintains this region socially and economically integrate with the rest of the country.
