A California-based storm is brewing in Central Florida … a BIMStorm. Since 2007, BIMStorms have engaged nearly 3,000 participants from a variety of domestic and international building industry organizations, facilitating the design of more than half a billion square feet using open standards that allow participants to work with the BIM and non-BIM tools of their choice.
Subject to change based on participation from Teams
Depending on connectivity and availability of teams at COAA Conference, we will be either be linking to remote teams to make short statements and interact with them or have them physically present at the conference.

Excerpt from Previous Announcement
There are two buildings we will focus on for BIMStorm:
A -The Clinic Building on this campus is going to be available in the following:
1. Program Requirement blocking model in Onuma
2. Schematic Design in Onuma
3. Completed Design in Onuma
4. Navis Works File from Revit with Onuma Server Data linked live.
5. Full Revit Architectural Model ( used in the COBie Challenge)
6. Full Revit MEP Model ( used in the COBie Challenge)
7. All the output files from Onuma, such as Excel, Google Earth, IFC, BIMXML, COBie of all stages of the models above.
The clinic building is the same building used on the buildingSMART alliance COBie challenge:
B - Industrial Tech Building
This is actually a building that has live sensors in it. Will be sharing more info about how this is set up. This would be a good candidate to show how BIM can go into Operations and Maintenance.
C- Entire Campus Model of Solano
NOTE: This model was created by VBN Architecture for Solano. The model and data released for the BIMStorm COAA is not the completed design but has much of the actual campus and FUSION data of the project that can be used for further studies in the BIMStorm.
We are also considering taking the entire campus model and landing it in the BIMStorm OKC.
We think Oklahoma City needs a new community college close to the downtown area.
We are still setting up the final models for the above and will notify all participants when the models are ready for this BIMStorm.
The intent of the COAA BIMStorm is to show end to end design, construction, facility management workflows. Teams can selects some or all portions of the process to participate in, and can use the models and data for their portion. Note that this BIMStorm is by invitation only to teams that have participated in previous BIMStorms. Collaboration between different teams is encouraged. The intent is to work up to the COAA conference in a few weeks, and then use the results during the conference to demonstrate what each team is working on and as an interactive platform with the audience at the event.
Some potential workflows:
We are also planning on taking the entire Solano Campus program and landing it into the BIMStorm OKC.
We think Oklahoma City needs a new community college in the redevelopment area.
We just heard that the Foundation for California Community Colleges FUSION and ONUMA are going to be receiving an Achievement Award from the AIA California Council for our work with the California Community Colleges. This campus is one of the California Community Colleges. This along with the BIMStorm at COAA will increase awareness in the industry of what is possible with open BIM and web services.
Please confirm your participation and send us some info on what you role you would like to play.
Some teams are going to be physically at the COAA Orlando event and others will be participating remotely.

Kimon Onuma has sent a message regarding the following Onuma Project:
Project: COAA BIMStorm Seed Files
Scheme: (141_173) 08-Clinic
For BIMStorm OKC, this is the resolved Clinic Model with COBie data. We will be attaching the full Revit Architectural and MEP models as well as the Navis Works models to this scheme.
