Native’s Cheese

3 c water

3/4 c agar flakes (or 1 oz package)

2 c raw cashews, grind them fine in a spice mill

1/2 c fresh lemon juice

2 T tahini

2 T nutritional yeast

2 t salt

1/2 t garlic, powder

1/2 t onion, powder

Heat the water and agar in a sauce pan to boiling, reduce to simmer and cook for 5-10 minutes in low.

In a blender have the cashews, lemon juice, tahini, yeast, salt, garlic and onion. When the water/agar is ready, place in blender and blend very well until very smooth. Blend twice.

Pour into an oiled loaf pan and let cool. Refrigerate until firm.
