NOTICE of RACE
1. RULES

2. ELIGIBILITY, ENTRY AND MEASUREMENT
2.1 Each skipper shall be a member of the Bullseye Class Association and US Sailing.
2.2 On-line registration at www.bullseyeclass.org is required. The registration deadline is July 27, 2012. Registrations received after the deadline will require a surcharge on the published fees. Final entries must be received and registration completed on or before August 10th, 2012 at 1500 hours.
2.3 For out of town Bullseye sailors, a limited number of borrowed boats will be available by advanced registration.
2.4 All boats and equipment are subject to inspection for compliance with Bullseye Class Association rules. All sails will be measured for compliance. Competitors found out of compliance are subject to protest.
3. FEES
3.1 Boat Registration / Racing Fee: $300. Fee includes, mooring and rafting, Friday Dinner, Saturday Dinner and Sunday Awards Cookout for two people per boat. The fee for each additional person for all events will be $75.
3.2 Part time guest fees per person are: Friday Dinner: $20; Saturday Dinner: $45; and Sunday Awards Cookout: $15. Box Lunches can be ordered in advance at $5.
3.4 Launch and haul for visiting yachts is being provided at a subsidized rate of $60 (round trip).
3.5 Late registration surcharge fees: $35 per boat.
3.6 Borrowed boat fee: $250. The borrowed boat fee will be returned provided the boat is returned in the same condition. Please note that competitors must bring their own mainsail, working jib, spinnaker and spinnaker pole.
4. SCHEDULE
Friday August 10th
1400 – 1700 Registration Desk open for check in.
1400 – 1700 Sail measurement and boat inspection.
1730 Welcome reception and dinner.
Saturday August 11th
0830 Competitors’ meeting on the waterfront.
1030 Warning Signal for first race.
1730 Cocktail reception followed by dinner.
Sunday August 12th
1030 Warning Signal for first race of the day; no start after 1300.
1600 Awards presentation and cookout
5. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
Sailing Instructions will be available during registration on Friday August 10th and will be available on the Bullseye Class website (www.bullseyeclass.org ) prior to that time.
6. VENUE
The racing area will be in the waters of Buzzards Bay off Marion, Massachusetts. A chart of the racing area will be included with the Sailing Instructions.
7. COURSES
Courses will comply with the requirements of the Bullseye Class Association. Courses will be set using inflatable marks and will include Olympic, Triangular and Windward/Leeward configurations.
8. PENALTY SYSTEM
RRS 44.1 and 44.2 will apply.
9. SCORING
9.1 Seven (7) races are scheduled. Three (3) races must be completed to constitute a National Championship.
9.2 The Low Point Scoring System of RRS Appendix A will apply, except:

10. LAUNCH AND HAUL
10.1 All boats must be launched no later than 1700 hours on Friday, August 10th. Thereafter, no haul outs may occur until the end of the regatta without prior Race Committee approval.
10.2 Moorings will be available through the Beverly Yacht Club on a first come basis. For reservations, please contact Susan Mead <Semead@aol.com>. All visitors will be accommodated with at least rafting space.
10.3 Launching and hauling for visiting yachts is being provided at a subsidized rate of $60 (round trip). It is also possible to use the trailer launching ramp free of charge at Burr Bros Boat Yard. Launching and rigging is scheduled for Friday, August 10 between 1100 and 1400. Hauling and unrigging is scheduled for Sunday, August 12 between 1400 and 1700. Owners must make arrangements with the event chair for launching/hauling any other day or time. For Bullseye sailors interested in Racing in the Buzzards Bay Regatta, boats may be launched on August 2, 2012. 11. PRIZES
11.1 Prizes will be awarded to skipper and crew for the top 5 places of the regatta.
11.2 Prizes will be awarded to first place skipper and crew for each race of the regatta.

12. DISCLAMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. The Beverly Yacht Club and the Bullseye Class Sailing Association are not responsible and will not accept any liability for bodily injury, death or property damage suffered from any cause. Each participant, including skipper and crew, participates in the regatta entirely at his/her own risk and waives any and all claims, including those arising from negligence or lack of due care, which he/she may have against the Beverly Yacht Club, the regatta committee and its race officers, trustees, committee members, members, agents, or employees. Responsibility for evaluating the wind, sea and weather conditions rests with each participant as does responsibility for the safe condition of the boat, including safety equipment and rigging. Patrol boats or other assistance will not likely be available. Assistance, if any, from the regatta committee or other Beverly Yacht Club vessels, or other patrol boats, from any personnel manning them, is entirely at the risk of the participant.
