 Loving Friends (Part 1)

That God made us and loves us.

 The children will spin a wheel and will tell how the children in the pictures are bringing God’s love to others.

  1.  The teacher will put previous lesson  activities in a suitcase.
  2. The teacher will pull items out and will ask the children to guess what those activities were about.
  3. Distribute spinner from activity p. 31.
  4. The teacher will demonstrate how to play the game.
  5. Discuss the small drawing in the game board.
  6. Select a child have the child to spin the pointer and how the child in the picture is bringing God’s love to others.
  7. continue with other children.
  8. Review lesson on friendship.
  9. Play the “Tree of Friends.”

 The children will create a card to show gratitude to the postal worker, chefs, police officers for what they do.

  1.   Review activities from previous lessons.
  2. Discuss community helpers.
  3. Set three centers around the room.
  4. Gather the children around the centers.
  5. Give the children postcards to decorate and sign.
  6. Remind the children that God’s love comes to us through our community helpers too.
  1. Can you recall some of the people who loves us and care for us?
  2. Can you give examples of how they care for you?
  3. If you were in danger who would call and why?

Wonderful Me (1)

  God made each of us wonderfully unique.

 The children will demonstrate things that they are able to do now.

  1.  The teacher will discuss with the wonderful things that God has created for them.
  2. Tell the children that they will see a wonderful thing that God has created “them.”
  3. Have each child look at themselves in a mirror.
  4. The teacher will explain that each one one of them is made wonderfully and unique.
  5. The teacher will find something wonderful about each child to notice and say something like, “Nobody has a great smile like yours.
  6. Teach the children the song “Your Face.”
  7. Distribute activity p. 35.
  8. Explain that the pictures show things they can do.
  9. Have the children place an X in the box with their fingers or trace the X to indicate that they can play.
  10. Have the children answer questions on the lesson tought.

We need to take good care of ourselves, the wonderful children God made.

 The children will recall ways we take care of ourselves.

  1.  The teacher will review how wonderful the children are.
  2. The teacher will discuss things we need to do to take care of ourselves.
  3. Teach the children the rhyme “I Can Take Care of Me.”
  4. Distribute activity p. 36 to each child.
  5. The teacher will read the first two lines at the top of the page. (The words, “How wonderful made by God I “I am” are from Psalm 139.
  6. Have the children look at the illustration.
  7. Ask the children question based on the illustrations.
  8. Have the children trace the dotted X’s with a crayon if they eat the food that are good for.
