Worse, THE CURSE has been taken from the crypt and Henry (Pan) is about to use it to lock Storybrooke back in time so he can rule the town, creating a New Neverland.
Pan casts the curse, taking Felix’s heart to enact it.

The Blue Fairy is revived and gives them the wand which allows Mr. Gold to switch the boys back.
Mr. Gold had put the magic blocker wrist band on Pan/Henry prior, but when Pan comes to, the blocker doesn’t work and Pan goes after his son.
Henry delivers the scroll to Regina. Regina is able to see what will happen when she destroys Pan’s curse—they will all go back to their respective lands, except Henry who was born in this world, because Storybrooke will be destroyed. The “replacement” will be final!
Emma will be able to take care of Henry because she was saved from the curse already. She and Henry will leave before the curse hits and the rest will return to their lands.
Emma and Henry say their good-byes, but not before learning that not only will Storybrooke be destroyed, but so will their memories. Regina gifts Emma with fake happy memories of a past life with Henry, set up for a real future with him.
The curse hits and Regina destroys the scroll. She watches as Emma and Henry drive away and Storybrooke vanishes.
ONE YEAR LATER: Emma and Henry=perfect life until a knock at the door reveals Captain Hook (although a stranger to Emma now) with a message for Emma: her family is in danger.
Emma, who thinks she has no family except Henry, kicks Hook to the curb, chalking it up to someone else’s carelessness for letting him in.
Emma is dating someone, whom she might marry. Hook’s protests to believe him weigh in on her decision.
Emma finds evidence that Henry and she had a life that is not in her memories.
She puts Hook in jail, but eventually retrieves him after seeing pictures of her and Henry in Storybrooke.

Meanwhile, Zelena (AKA the Wicked Witch) befriends Snow White/Mary Margaret. Mary Margaret unwittingly enlists her help because Zelena claims to be a midwife, a perfect job for an expecting fairy tale princess.
Back at Regina’s, the potion fails; they decided to “smoke out” the villain by revealing that they are about to remember whoever did this. The two women stake out Regina’s house and the villain comes knocking.

Zelena meets with David and Mary Margaret and secretly spikes David’s tea with the Night Shade.
David leaves the meeting to help Emma and Hook. He is confronted by his Night Shade fear. He wins by admitting his fear of failure, but his sword is “stolen.”
Emma and Hook and Regina find David in the woods after the encounter. Regina tells everyone that the Wicked Witch stole his sword because the symbol of courage it bears is very powerful.
They find an empty cage (where Rumplestiltskin had been kept) in the farm cellar.
Emma and gang decide to search for Mr. Gold. Regina goes to search the farmhouse.
Emma and Charming find Mr. Gold, who knows who the witch is, but he can’t say because there are too many voices.
Regina finds Robin Hood at the farm house. They team up to investigate, but Regina discovers his lion tattoo and runs away.
Belle and Hook are at Gold’s shop when Neal busts through the door with a weird mark on his hand. They call Emma and take him to the hospital.
Emma puts Belle on the case to discover the meaning of the mark and she leaves to search out answers.
Belle calls Emma to tell her about the Dark One’s vault key and that Neal is dying.
Meanwhile, Zelena comforts Mary Margaret with orange juice and small talk about the hunt for the Wicked Witch.
Neal leaves the hospital to go after Emma to find his dad. They do and Neal begs Emma to separate him from his father. She does.
Neal, as he dies, gives her the key chain and a message for Henry. He dies and Emma leaves Mr. Gold with his son.
Mr. Gold admits that the Witch is Zelena and Emma goes to save her from Mary Margaret, but Zelena is missing.
Zelena approaches and demands Mr. Gold back to his cage. He goes.
Emma tells Henry that his father was a good man but that he died.
The town buries Neal.
Zelena reveals that she is Regina’s sister and she is out for Regina’s blood. Zelena demands a showdown at sundown. The most powerful will win, the other will die. Regina accepts.

Emma struggles with giving up her powers, but when Elsa reaches her just in time, Elsa gives Emma a pep talk about accepting her powers and then she will control them. Emma decides to just accept them and all of a sudden she’s fine.
Outside, Hook, who had gone after Emma, got caught by Mr. Gold. Mr. Gold ties him up and tells him that getting Emma’s powers is only part of the spell. The secret ingredient is the heart of someone who knew him before he became the Dark One. Hook is that person. Mr. Gold takes Hook’s heart, ensuring that Hook will lead Emma to Gold and get her powers.
Hook is released and goes to Emma. As everyone catches up, Emma puts on a fireworks show with her newly controlled powers.

Mr. Gold sees Belle is with Will the Knave for now.

The Author slips away and goes to Mr. Gold to help him finish the evil happy ending he had in mind.
Meanwhile, Lily meets her mother for the first time and they bond.
Mr. Gold’s plan comes true and all the character’s roles are reversed in an alternate universe in Fairy Tale Land (Regina is Snow, Snow is the Evil Queen, etc).
*All of 4x22/23 (Operation Mongoose P.1 and 2) events will be in Storybrooke Time due to the alternate reality of them* (Events are played out like the original with the characters playing their alternate selves of their enemies)
Henry wakes up to find that his family has been taken to the Author’s new book Heroes and Villains and are living alternate lives. He finds the Author and demands to find them. He sucks them both into the book.
In the book/Enchanted Forest, he meets the Light One (Rumple) and his mother Regina (Snow) living in the forest on the run from Snow (the Evil Queen). He journeys to find the Savior (his mother, Emma) whom Snow locked in the tower guarded by Lily the dragon.
Henry asks Hook (who is only a lowly pirate on Blackbeard’s ship) to help him rescue Emma. They do and find out the Emma knows everything (her memory was her curse).
Emma, Henry, and Hook, and eventually Regina, set out to find their character’s happy endings that will end the alternate universe and bring everyone back to normal. The plan: get Regina to marry Robin Hood before Zelena does or the book ends, making things final.
In the process, the Author escapes and finds the Light One and asks him to stop Regina from her happy ending. Rumplestiltskin agrees and nearly kills Regina when she jumps to save Henry. She almost dies as the wedding bells toll (the signal of The End).
Robin Hood comes to Regina’s side and Zelena becomes green with envy of his affection to Regina. Henry quickly saves the day by using the Author’s special pen mixed with Regina’s saving blood to stop the book’s plot from becoming final. They all return to Storybrooke as their old selves.
Robin Hood, now free from Zelena who is locked away, tries to woo Regina and takes her for a walk, yet the Dark One’s darkness is extracted from Mr. Gold before his heart dies, and locks itself to Regina.
Emma runs after Regina and sacrifices her good heart to save Regina, taking on the Darkness…making her the new Dark One. (The dagger changes from Rumplestiltskin to Emma Swan).
