Classroom dynamics
First Level: Smart board only- allows interactivity into your classroom
Second Level: Smart response used in isolation - an extension to smart software - extra tab in notebook which means you create lessons still in notebook - helps with formative and summative assessment - engage and assess your students - helps both you and your students
Third Level: Both in classroom - really helps facilitate individual learning
RESPONSE SYSTEM
-Helps with instantaneous assessment
-Helps perform planned assessment
The receiver uses a radio frequency to broadcast a channel with classroom name - basically you turn it on each morning or each class
Simulator example as a visual reference is in your system docs
FUNCTIONS:
CREATE - instant questions, question wizard, import questions
EVALUATE - individual and class performances - over time and specifically to curricular outcomes - this is called Tagging
MANAGE - classes, assessments, data, devices
DELIVER- formative, summative evaluations
HOW TO:
-Most tests reveal the strength of a reader - which needs to be taken into consideration - you may be able to help your students by reading the questions aloud and possibly explaining - depending on the level/age/grade of students you are working with
-You need to develop your questions thoughtfully and thoroughly - add in links or videos if you need to extend learning
AFTER ASSESSMENT:
- click on the teacher tool at the bottom of your screen tool bar
- it will open the Gradebook
-- you can save the notebook file assessment (ex: answers from _____ assessment) - or you could go to the class you did it in - there could be a number of assessments - they are all stored there
-----Here you can see their answers; a breakdown by class or by individual student - have the ability to create a performance graph - per student or class
In your teacher profile, you can create a number of different classes under you and they are all stored in the teacher response profile
Creating an assessment - there is sample ones to help you create your own from a form already made - as well as online there are many helpful things. Open response tab and put in title, then choose question style and edit the content to what you want.
