Types of Characters

• Protagonist-the main characters
• Antagonist- the character or force that blocks the protagonist
• Subordinate Characters-characters who play on important role in the story, but are not part of the main plot
• Stock Characters- characters who play a minor role in the story and normally fulfill a stereotype
• Flat Characters- characters with only one or two traits
• Round Characters- characters with many traits
• Dynamic Characters- characters that change during the story
• Static Characters- characters that do not change very much during the story
