A Zombie Call For Peace

There has been a call for humans to have a voice in the #zombiepeace movement. We humans can’t have a voice without Zombies. See note at the bottom if you support these measures.

This endless cycle of zombie/human conflict has not changed in thousands of years. I did not ask to be a zombie, it happened as an unexpected bite. Despite the Romero’s vision, zombies are driven not by evil or aggression, but purely a need for sustenance. Just like humans- have you visited any of your slaughterhouses lately? Do you know what goes on in there?

Yes, human brains are the most nutritious (and yummy) food for us but we can be flexible. We can exist on say cattle, deer, warthogs, and even cats are nice for a snack. We’ll take over your pet shelters (another human tribute, killing unwanted pets, seriously?)

By the way, despite what Vincent Price tried, garlic does nothing but make us smell worse.

Your portrayals of zombies are skewed by bad horror movies. They leave out out the culture and art that we prefer to practice such as our punk rock Gregaorian chanting or revolutionizing education through massive online open courses (despite the rumors, that was a zombie idea, not Canadian, sorry guys).

It's time for a change. For peace.

Let's stop this cycle of pointless #bites and #shields and #dodges. It is unproductive. No side wins, we only get distracted from our opportunity to make this a better world. We zombies are willing to lay down our #bites and come to the table to achieve a peace plan.

Think about it, we can make use of places humans do not desire or barely even make use of, say Detroit, Baltimore or Saskatchewan. We can clean them up for you.

We appeal to the wisdom of Digital Humanists to do better than fight and run, to work with us Digital Zombies and make this a world worth living for.

Suggest a time and place to come make peace (preferably under a dark bridge on a moonless night, but we can be adjust).

Aren’t you ready for a change? We are. Do something different.

Rule 9 gives zombies a way to sign:

9. #zombiepeace. A small faction of zombies has arisen that wants to make peace with humans. To sign the treaty, a zombie must create a Storify (see #antidote). The tweet must include a link to the Storify and the hashtag #zombiepeace. The zombie should change their status to “pacifist zombie.” Once a zombie has declared themselves a pacifist, they can not #bite (or complete any other action within the game) and should actively convince other zombies to work for peace.

• The only way for us humans to speak on Twitter is to write a blog post and get a safezone. I, for one (@writerswriting), do not have time today to do this. I did this yesterday. If someone can do this and donate the blog post link to me, I can tweet out with a #safezone and insert my voice into the #zombiepeace conversation.
• We could also find other means for conversation outside of Twitter. We could move the conversation here, for instance, and Zombies can speak for us on Twitter.

I tried to set up a #safezone for humans at about 8 am this morning by donating my blogpost and then including @AllHumans.  I don’t think that worked. I wonder if I can still donate that blog post? Or was that a fumble? I would be willing to donate it if that would work. (I’m @writingasjoe )

I guess run that by @Jessifer and @allistelling.
