REBUTTAL TO UNKNOWN COMMENTATOR

Mayor PH and his SideKick had another chance last night to claim his/their work.  These collaborators had the opportunity to claim their work and become the recognized champions they would like to be.  They chose instead to not take the credit for the document that many of us were denied until last night.  At this point, we can only assume that they cowardly want-a-be-a-champion(s) who are still misleading the Public.  If they are not misleading the public, they should take credit for their paper.  By having a nom de plume, MAYOR PH, neither you nor your SideKick are getting any recognition for being the Champions of the Citiy of Wilmer.

You Mayor PH wrote race,Racist,  and Racial.  I never used any form of that word.  And I rarely do, as an anthropologist except where DNA suggests it is the best use.   So variations on the word “race” must be weighing heavily on your mind.  My comments referred to Culture, Religion, and Politics.  Let me explain something to you both: biologically all Europeans and that includes all of us immigrating from there to here -- including those from Spain to Mexico and southward --- are usually classified as Caucasoid.   We share the same biological label-Caucasoid.  And, because we live in the Southwest Culture Area and fought side by side for Texas Independence,  Hispanics and others descended from Western Europe here in Texas share much of the same Culture: Food, Literature, Music etc. The Polka influenced Mariachi in case you didn't know.

I cannot afford to single out any group to criticize.  I am acutely aware that when I point a finger at someone three fingers on my own hand point back to me. With my relatives,alive and dead , cousins nieces and nephews, etc I do not have a bloodline  that allows me to claim one race over another. Morphologically I appear to be of white European stock.  Morpho-types can be mis-leading.

For your information my gutless and unknown- -- no let me say to date  --- unidentified Champions of Wilmer:  
My Aunt, now deceased, was Hispanic.
My brother's fiancé is Hispanic.  They will be visiting us later this month and I hope you meet both.
My nephew is half black (although, I can't seem to pinpoint which half is black. Since race is on your mind maybe one of you can help me. I'll supply you with a photo.)
My great uncle was black. His name Julious Sidney Mathis and was from Mansfield.  He taught me to read and to add and subtract from my 1st grade through my third grade years.  He was with us for only the last four years of his life.  I will never forget this kind and gentle man that we loved and who loved us.
My daughter is a Delta Sigma Theta because she was asked to go on-line and then to join this service oriented Black Sorority. 
My grandmother and grandfather were German. The only whites in our family, BUT...Alas, my German grandmother's mother was Jewish (perhaps you have never noticed the Star of David I wear in her memory and honor  and to honor one of my close friend's mother who gave the necklace because I got her daughter and son-in-law back into Temple.  I wear it along with my Cross. I am proud of both of these religious heritages.
My other Grandmother was a quarter Cherokee ( I am applying for Tribal recognition).

And, as for her husband, my Grandfather, Julious Sidney Adams, he was English, French and Irish.  No one is perfect.

My dear MAYOR PH and Madam Sidekick , I have never heard you, Sir, say or do anything positive.  And, you Madam are selective in what you want to take from the City Codes and Ordinances. You know I want the Code and Ordinances enforced responsibly and equally.  I also know you are passionate about Wilmer.  Stand up and fight for physical  and tangible improvements to this City.   The City Buildings were rotting to the ground. The rot and disrepair did not occur during this progressive administration.  It took, at a minimum of 12 to 15 years for the buildings to deteriorate.  They have been repaired and painted under this administration..

Mayor PH and SideKick, You said: FINALLY THE TOWN HAS STARTING TO WORK TOGETHER AS A COMMUNITY.  Yes it has.  Where were you while these were being planned and pursued?

1. An elementary school is here now.
2. Streets are being improved.
3. City buildings are being repaired and painted.
4. Water quality and delivery has improved.
5. Development--commercial and industrial-- is really happening that will benefit the citizens of Wilmer.
6. A chain restaurant is in the works.
7. Single family and multi-family development is apparently in the immediate future.
ETC. ETC.
 Can a grocery store be far behind? During the past 2 years more has been done to improve the City than was done during the last 12 to 20 years.
 
Where have you been MAYOR PH and SideKick?  Oh, yes sorry...I forgot --- nit-picking everything that was being done that was positive by Mayor Steele and the City Council. 

I started working for this City before I ever moved here.  I begged and pleaded for the  Cottonwood Creek Preserve and got it.   I encouraged CDBG to develop the two children's playgrounds as CDBG funds could be used that way.  Well planned parks, open space preserves and greenbelts enhance the area and draw in development: Commercial, Industrial, Retail, Single and multi family.  I have several books in my library that attest to this.

My last act as the Dallas County Trail and Preserve Administrator was to write a grant to enlarge the Trinity River Greenbelt from Goat Island Preserve at Beltline Road to Riverbend Preserve at Malloy Bridge Road and then southward to the County line. 

The Grant was awarded to the County on August 27, 2010.

And, as far as the City's plans are concerned.  They are ambitious and yes, we may all have to bite the bullet for a couple of years, but in the end every single one of us will benefit.  The City of Wilmer can be a beautiful Community.  Our children will be proud to work, live and raise their families here.

Oh, by the way if you record and transcribe enough spoken words and copy enough of peoples' written documents ...put it through special softwares you can isolate word patterns and syntaxes and just about identify and speaker and/or writer within an accuracy of 90% .  That is why I sign what I write.  I know you can't stay anonymous.  Now, I am just waiting to see if either of you ever develop the courage and guts to step up to the challenge to become a public Champion. 

I'll keep your secret. 

Why, because, you are like Rush Limbaugh, once in a while you make sense even to me and that scares me.  If you were forthright and upfront, I might even support you on some issues.  But, I can.t support anyone who hides from the City they claim to love—faceless, unknown cowards.
