Essay #1- Gender Politics and Feminism

1. What does feminism mean to you? What is feminist theory?

Feminism to me is talking about womens rights. is the extension of feminism into theoretical or philosophical discourse. It aims to understand the nature of gender inequality.

2. When you think about gender equality, what are your reactions? I think that gender equality is a good thing, and that a lot of time people think of genders as not equal.

3. How is gender associated with politics? Gender is Associated with politics with women now running for office.

Essay #2- Political Behavior

1. How is political philosophy or choice of political party lines affected by gender? They are affected by gender because some of the people in the political parties are women. Some of the people in the different party think of women different than men.
2. Does gender affect outcome of voting in state or federal elections? Can you give an example? Yes i believe that gender does have an effect of voting in state and federal elections. The example I can think of is about Sarah Palin there was people out there when she ran as vice president that didn't think she was a good fit.
3. In your lifetime, how have the political arena and political issues changed. The political arena really changed from when i was born until now. You never used to see women running for political offices. The issues are have also changed with the times about gender and gay marriages.
