Axminster Outdoor Bowls Club

Axminster Outdoor Bowls Club is situated within the grounds of Cloakham Lawn Sports Centre on the outskirts of the market town of Axminster, Devon.

To get to the Club you will need to use Cloakham Drive through the housing estate following the road down to the main sports hall, turning left before the main car park area..

Facilities

The club offers outdoor bowling on a six rink artificial bowling surface which is used for the main season from mid-April to mid-September and , if the weather permits, year round. The club has its own pavilion with ample changing rooms, bar, kitchen and function area. There is a car park adjacent to the clubhouse.  The Club also has facilities for bowlers with disabilities, a wheelchair, a ramp onto the rinks and a toilet.

Activities

We offer social bowling where friends can meet for a roll-up and refreshments. We play friendly matches with local and occasional touring clubs and we offer competitive bowling at club and county level.  Touring sides are welcome (by arrangement).

Members

We welcome new members of all ages. There are taster sessions available for those wishing to try the sport before committing themselves, with loan bowls and shoes provided. Else, please wear you own flat soled shoes. Training sessions are held by arrangement with our coach.
