                                I know why the caged bird sings

        Did you know that Maya Angelou’s poem “I know why the caged bird sings” was based on something real? Well it was, when Maya was little her life wasn’t good, she was treated horrible and she was abused by her step dad.  In Maya Angelou’s poem she stated “ the caged bird sings with a tear full trill” Maya went to express her feelings but she couldn’t so she wrote this poem. In my opinion I like this poem because I think it was a good poem because it was based on a real story
