Richard Stallman- He was a physics student at Harvard University. He began the GNU/Linux Project in 1983 as an effort to develop and use the copyleft concept. He also started the Free Software Foundation.
Gene Spafford- For 30 years he advised major coporations, including Micrsoft, Intel, and Unisys, the U.S. Air Force, FBI, and two U.S. presidents. He is noted for several firsts in the terms, software fornsics and firewall. He wrote the first English-language book on the topics of viruses and malware.
