• Purpose is to tell us what human beings are like

• 3 different ways are; Dialogue, Dramatic Monologue, Soliloquy.

   How do writers explain characters

• 2 types of characterization; Direct characterization or indirect characterization.
• Direct is when it is directly told
• Indirect is when it is found by one’s self.

   What are the type of characters

• 3 types, protagonist or main character, antagonist is the villain, subordinate characters which are characters who play important roles but do not tie into the plot.

   How are characters described

• How complex is the character?
• Flat character is a character with only one or two character traits
• Round character is a character with many different character traits
• Does the character change?
• Dynamic character is a character who changes throughout the story.
• Static character is a character who does not change much throughout the story.
