VI.           ACTION - NONE

 A.          OASBA General Meeting Reminder – March 27, 2018, 6pm at Jenison Public Schools, Jenison Center for the Arts.

The board will not take action following this closed session.  The superintendent will continue to guide Board of Education through proper evaluation procedures  this next month, and the findings will be presented either in March or April.  Policy requires that the board is made aware of timelines and requirements for evaluation of the superintendent.   Each year, if renewal of contract is not recommended, the board of education must review the evaluation in open session at a Board of Education meeting by April 1.  If that is not the case, the review in open session may be held at any meeting.

Agenda Planning Committee suggests the following timeline:

February 19        BOE Closed Session for evaluation of the superintendent

February 26         Noon deadline to submit individual evaluations to Mary Miilu

(all online)

February 28          Curriculum  8:20 AM

March 6         Finance  12:15 PM

March 9        Agenda Planning  8:20 AM

March 19         BOE Regular Meeting - Report summary of evaluation findings

Tom DenHerder moved and April DeWitt supported the motion that the Board of Education of the Zeeland Public Schools convene in closed session for evaluation of the Superintendent per Section 8(a) of the Open Meetings Act.
