1. | President’s Report Sandra | March 13 is Declaration deadline Season starts April 9th Our main concern is the girls – unclear how many teams we will have – need 10 to register a team Tight tiering was discussed, you can do that, but only within your own association What you can do is balance the teams, you must have A/B/C Port Moody is introducing a no tolerance policy for official absue. Each team will sit down and provide a an identified person, that person will be responsible to card attendees not in compliance The system is progressive The next year they identify the problem The third year start actioning issues Sandra sent volunteer email to all We must be aware of how we speak to folks and ensure you give appropriate information. 4. | 2nd VP Report Darren | Saw the reconciliation of rust offs – success from a numbers propspective Evaluations are successful so far A lot of dialogue with PW and Bantam coordinators As evaluations progress we must be cognizant of the information being shared Operations from Jan 2 to now are very good | |
5. | Treasurer Report Cou | Re rust offs - without Tyke we have 5,815 collected. Busy working on registration with Carolynn. Balance $91,000 reservation, $60,000 for gaming. Jerseys and shorts will be $20,000. | |
6. | Registrar Report Carolynn | Must renew PO box again 18 registrations since Saturday 390 in total Mini Tyke = 30 Tyke = 56 Novice = 91 PW = 66 Bantam = 62 Midget = 34 Female Tyke = 4 Novice = 9 PW = 13 Bantam = 11 Midget = 6 Junior = 8 We have until March 5th to address any female team shortages If the tyke girls do not want to move up they can play on the boys teams | Aman to reach out to the female players as appropriate to determine team formation |
7. | Female Coordinator Aman | Midget – there is a possibility they will fold Other divisions – girls don’t do evaluations. Aman would like to get the coaches confirmed and give them them the team contact info so they can start getting in touch Floor times – how are we working for female rust off? We have a schedule until March 11th and then schedule reduces – we review times at March 11th The juniors have not been out yet There will be some floor time, it is not clear yet when Or how much Aman would like to get their goalie gear and team stuff ready (Novice/Bantam) | Jason and Aman will work together on coach notification |
8. | Floor Allocator Wendy | Floor – rust off complete Evaluations have started Schedule to Mar 11 Received contracts for March last Thurs/Friday Working with Jason and Darren to schedule later half of march Have all season contracts but MAP and GPRC outdoor – contracts GPRC targeted for April – not sending contracts out until they confirm it will be open Jason – we would like to go look GPRCat it from a lax perspective. They may be diamond grinding the floor And applying expoxy coating, there may be a safety concern Jason will pop down to GPRC and have a look | Jason to check GPRC outdoor area for safety |
9. | Head Coach Jason | Rust offs – early start – some challenges from coach feedback Most divisions strong start. Overall very positive process Players and coaches out there – good for coaches Moving into evaluations and team selection PDF sent out to provide clarity on evaluations We have made some changes to the evaluation process Getting feedback from coaches on the floor to continue to improve the process Parents can have more assurance there are more evaluators part of the process We will have returning data going forward – more consistency to process overall Executive has responsibility to understand the PDF Document is to provide answers to folks We have Riley working in the goalie evaluation program We ran 5 sessions of goalie development – the goalies got about 100 hours of development Good feedback from parents and goalies Tyke plans – coach committee will get back to exec regarding tyke Looking at in season goalie development Casey is looking for sponsorship for the paid goalie coaches | |
10. | Head Ref | Zach – no proposed approved rule changes for this season The clinics start this Saturday in Langley 5 dates in total until end of march 8 entry (new) registered All new registrations came from web blast Wendy to send out web blast 3 returning level 1, down from 6 6 returning level II referees , down from 16 Working with some refs to come back REF ALLOCATOR – seeking permission to Buy a program for ref allocation - approved | Wendy to send another web blast for officials |
11. | Equipment/Uniform Mya | Forgot about the banner, quote next meeting Pinnies, white jerseys and shorts in – invoice is into CO Snap on letters? Option is to sew them on – yes we will try snaps – do we want blackk and white? Pack of 6 was around $300 for 14 sets. The more we get the less. (26.22 for one C and 2 As). We will buy 2 colors. We will Need 18 sets (have 9 whites already). Approved. White jerseys – do we want to sell? Yes - $5 each Where to sell? Photo night – Coordinators can assist Mya will do a google doc and send out Ball bags - $37 each – We can get buckets for less Money. We will get some buckets as we run out of Bags In the lock there are files from 1989 and forward Permission provided to shred Garment bags – most are ripped – can throw away Blank mini tyke awards – a box with a few People mentioned jerseys with names on them for Fundraising idea (no stop sign) – no decision | Mya will order Cs and As Mya will prep a google doc to assist with selling the jerseys Mya will order Buckets as Needed Mya will shred Old documents |
12. | School Program Andy | Helmet decals (not wraps) – there are rules around this So perhaps something we need to control. Decals must Be CSA approved. We must do our due diligence. Media – we do have twitter up and running We have 63 followers in first 2 weeks Instagram is running – 109 followers in a week We would like to get access to the website and Facebook. Can we stop it and make a new one? Yes School program – we had one while I was away. Very Successful. Another gentleman has asked to run 3 Consecutive days of the program outdoors – outdoor Event for kids in June. Yes we can. What do we feel about bring a friend night? Do we Give discounts on registration for bring a friend? If Yes to who? Throughout the season we should do A Langley thunder fun night – education/culture. Parades? Malls? Events - Langley lacrosse day. Team Gear – have a meeting with a potential vendor on Wednesday evening – they came to us and said they would carry 5 – 10 items of Thunderwear year round. Do we want To do a licensing agreement? Have them mark up our Gear? A morph of both? They have also brought an interest for sponsorship They want to funnel lacrosse traffic. We must get 3 quotes/proposals 3 sponsors on the table that we are considering Working on a minor sponsorship for the goalie clinics Shauna has stepped into help – done a great job. | More investigation needed on this issue.
