2. Approval of the Minutes: We are currently waiting for minutes from Carol from our 3rd quarter meeting.

- Review what we were supposed to accomplish this year- We discussed working on how to have agendas and minutes consistently put on the school website. We also discussed that it has been difficult to get people to attend meetings other than the board itself.
- Take a look at the self assessment survey-We completed this survey.
- Mr. Mitchell to give a quick update on any new/important information-Preliminary test scores are looking positive in all grade levels, we are looking for a 5th and 6th grade teacher, we also need EA’s and a custodian.
- Principal Survey-Mr. Mitchell exited and the team completed the Principal survey. Heather will send it off to Mr. Hamada.
- Roles for next school year/nominations-Ben Karon is happy to stay on as our community representative. Stefany will stay on as our classified rep. Lea Weldon has volunteered to be the parent representative. Kawehi is interested in being the student representative for next year. Heather will continue to be the certificated staff representative.
- Discuss the meeting calendar for next year-Everyone seemed pleased with the quarterly meetings.

2. Approval of the Minutes: Moved by Carol Seielstad. Approved.

4. Agenda Calendar Items:
- Heather introduced Annabel Brownell, new student representative.
- Waiver Days school year 25-26. The council decided to request additional waiver days for Professional Development (new ELA curriculum, Math). The council decided to ask for one full day for parent conferences rather than 4 shortened days.. Rachel asked how many days total that would mean. Mr. Mitchell said no more than 4 days total.
- Staffing for SY 25-26: projected enrollment is 278 students, the same as now. Mr. Mitchell predicted the same staff as this year, 14 classroom teachers, 5 sped teachers.
- Mr. Mitchell explained the Tri-Level system and recent Strive HI Report. He then shared highlights about what is being done this year to improve our 2024-25 results. Carol asked for information regarding the ESL scores since implementing a new curriculum coordination for ESL. This year 65% of ESL students are on track to exit ESL within 5 years (previously much lower). Although not yet where we would like to be, this data represents an improvement over previous years.

- Introductions: Ben Karon is our new community member from Anaina Hou.
- SCC Responsibilities Guide- Heather reviewed the guide to help inform everyone of the role of the SCC.
- Choose/Elect a chairperson- This will be postponed until the next meeting.
- Carol has volunteered to take minutes this year.- Not present today.
- Meetings will be quarterly. (Sept. 10, November 19, community meeting, March 4, academic and financial plan input, May 20, wrap up the year.)
Heather and Fig will check with the PTSA to see about coordinating a PTSA/SCC community meeting for November 19. If not, the community will be able to attend virtually.
5. Announcements:
- Fig and Ben had a good discussion regarding career and internship opportunities at Anaina Hou. Ben was excited to develop and plan opportunities for our 5th and 6th grade students.
