Question: Does Utah require specific forms of identification to purchase alcohol?
Utah law requires a retail licensee to follow age verification guidance authorized by the ABS Commission. Retail licensees shall comply with the requirements found in Utah Code Sections 32B-1-401, 32B-1-404, 32B-1-405, 32B-1-407 and 32B-4-411, and in Utah Administrative Rule R82-4-101
VALID FORMS OF IDENTIFICATION SHALL BE ONE OF THE FOLLOWING - NO EXCEPTIONS:
A valid identification must have an affixed photo matching individual presenting the ID, have an expiration date, and a date of birth.
- U.S. State Issued Drivers License
- U.S. Department of State Issued Drivers License
- U.S. Territory Drivers License
- mDL (Mobile Drivers License)[1]
- Military Identification Card
- U.S. State Issued Identification Card
- U.S. Territory Issued Identification Card
- mID (Mobile Identification Card)1
- Passport
- Passport Card (The U.S. and Ireland are currently the only two countries that offer a Passport Card)
