K-2nd

Our youngest artists experimented with color in two exciting projects. Inspired by Bridget Riley’s op art, they used complementary colors to create striking visual effects. In their Georgia O’Keeffe project, they practiced blending analogous colors to create soft, flowing transitions in their artwork.

3rd

3rd-grade students explored the bold patterns of Bridget Riley’s op art, using complementary colors to create eye-catching designs. They also developed their visual storytelling skills by designing their own comic strips.

4th Grade
Op art took center stage in 4th grade as students studied the mesmerizing work of Bridget Riley. They created their own optical illusions, experimenting with pattern and contrast. In addition, they practiced visual storytelling by creating original comic strips, bringing their characters and ideas to life.

5th Grade

Our 5th-grade students have been sculptors! Inspired by Alberto Giacometti and Ernie Barnes, they created expressive figure sculptures that capture movement and emotion. These unique sculptures showcase their creativity and craftsmanship.

PE

Welcome back!

This week students focused on teamwork!  Students partnered up and had to work together to build a “tower” with a cone, foam ball, and 3 bean bags. Partners were limited to using only a finger or elbow per partner to pick up their materials and carry them to their towers. Students learned the importance of teamwork, and saw quickly how working together helped make the task easier.

Reminder to please send your child in the proper shoes on their PE day! More info about the dress code can be found here. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions about dress code or anything else!
