How You Can Get Involved…

Parents, Alumni, Community for Kids (P.A.C.K.)

The parent/family booster club at PMS. It is comprised of parents, alumni, and community members who want to work together for the betterment of our kids at PMS. The club is actively seeking members who have what is best for the students at PMS at heart. We encourage all our parents and families to join the booster club. There is a $5.oo membership fee with all the proceeds being used to make PMS the best possible school for students, teachers, families, and the community.

Parent-School Compact

Compacts are included in the registration packet provided at registration. The compact states the goals and responsibilities of students, parents, and schools.

What is Title I?

Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) provides financial assistance to states and school districts to meet the needs of educationally at-risk students. The goal of Title I is to provide extra instructional services and activities which support students identified as failing or most at risk of failing the state’s challenging performance standards in mathematics, reading, and writing.

How does Title I Work?

The Federal Government provides funding to states each year for Title I. To get the funds, each state must submit a plan describing:

Plantersville Middle School (PMS) is a Schoolwide Title I school. Our teachers use the Mississippi College and Career Ready Standards from the Mississippi Department of Education, along with the pacing guides and curriculum of the Lee County School District to prepare our students to be successful on the ELS assessments used by the district to progress monitor our students, as well as the Mississippi Academic Assessment Program (MAAP) end-of-year assessments. PMS students are expected to show one level growth from the previous year’s MAAP assessments.

School Information is posted on the PMS Facebook page, on the school webpage, and sent in monthly newsletters, text messages, calls, and emails using the Remind app.
