3 16-oz. cans garbanzo beans, drained, but save the liquid
2 teaspoons garlic, minced
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
¾ cup roasted tahini
¼ cup olive oil
1 teaspoon salt (or salt to taste)
1 cup chopped walnuts
Garnish with sliced black olives and paprika
Place all ingredients into a large food processor or blender and blend until smooth. (If you have a smaller food processor, blend the ingredients in batches.) If the mixture is too thick, add a small amount of water a little at a time.
Pour the pureed mixture into a serving container and garnish as desired. Or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to eat.
