Executive Summary

Caring on Chain is a philanthropic project and ministry trust that aims to connect, build, and promote well-being in communities worldwide. Through the power of blockchain, cryptocurrency, and Web3 technology, we decentralize charity fundraising and empower groups to create additional revenue streams to support their initiatives.

Inspired by platforms like CaringBridge and GoFundMe, we provide community care infrastructure natively through crypto networks. Supporters globally pledge transparent aid via blockchain’s auto-staking and programmable smart contracts. Building peer-to-peer social aid exemplifies the promise of Web3 and blockchain-based decentralization.

Caring on Chain leverages blockchain infrastructure to provide transparent peer coordination of resources, care assistance, and fundraising unrestricted by geography or centralized control. Our 508(c)(1)(A) ministry trust, governed by a Board of Trustees, offers cryptocurrency support to user profiles, builds local aid networks, and uplifts marginalized groups.

The project offers a range of services to support philanthropic projects and initiatives. From fundraising through decentralized finance (DeFi) to leveraging the MerchMetaverse platform for merchandise and artwork sales, we help organizations maximize their impact. Our decentralized fundraising platform allows donors to contribute directly to charitable projects, ensuring transparency and efficiency. Additionally, organizations can use the MerchMetaverse platform to sell merchandise and artwork, generating additional revenue for their initiatives.

Decentralized Platform Features

- Direct crypto transfers to displayed care profiles

- Matching of donors, volunteers and causes

- Local care networks offering rides, meals, job boards

- Honorary NFT art sales funding medical equipment

- Redeemable automated assistance for logging care hours

Outcomes

- Tackle economic exclusion by hardwiring compassion into model design

- Offer creative leadership opportunities through recipient-led art sales

- Prove cooperative ownership of infrastructure lifts all members

Role of Blockchain Technology

Blockchain provides decentralized infrastructure enabling reliable value exchange without central intermediaries. Data becomes tamper-proof through encrypted, distributed ledgers rather than siloed datasets vulnerable to manipulation. Automatic “smart contracts” can trigger assistance flows based on dynamic care documentation needs for transparency. Tokens and wallets replace service quality assessments with dynamic care documentation tied to support.

Additionally, NFTs (non-fungible tokens) offer unique honorary digital artworks with proceeds directly funding identified causes. Scarcity mimics limited edition artworks, while blockchain verification provides prestige and collector value. Directly connecting artists and causes fosters social impact engagement through creative expression and community participation.

Use Case Examples:

Company Donation Example

A company like Home Depot searches the Caring on Chain database when allocating reserves for charitable causes. One profile submitted details an individual’s struggle managing chronic illness and securing stable housing without consistent community support. Home Depot decides to  provide recurring cryptocurrency donations unlocked by the user’s ongoing documentation of determined care needs.

TimeBank Example

A hospital staff pool contributes hours assisting elderly and disabled members on Caring on Chain. Licensed nurses log volunteer visits to low-income assisted living centers. The hours are distributed to support a hospital caregiver managing her mother’s dementia, based on group vote assessing her submitted care documentation.

Meal Provision Example

Former group home residents offer honorary digital artwork with proceeds funding grocery store gift cards for families hosting recently discharged youth during the holidays. The NFT collection's scarcity represents the limited sponsored holiday meals available. Donors provide messages delivered alongside meals in a decentralized support network.

The Team

Caring on Chain was envisioned by women and is a female-led initiative. One such founding trustee, is a woman of Color and visionary, who is deeply passionate about leveraging emerging technologies for social good. With over 15-years in the healthcare sector and a degree in public health nursing with extensive care experience, she has witnessed firsthand the barriers placed around marginalized communities seeking care and economic agency. Restrictive qualifying guidelines, geographic service limitations, data privacy violations, and centralized gatekeeping create further marginalization.

As blockchain networks demonstrate new paradigms for cooperation, accountability, and decentralization, inspiring models like Bitcoin and Ethereum, showed potential. The team's diverse background, blending compassion advocacy with blockchain studies, and exploration of various aspects of trusts and commerce, equipped me to envision decentralized tools rewriting rules of economic access.

Triumphantly, we have assembled a team of social impact oriented developers, some with experience building on blockchain testnets. Our advisors include disability rights leaders, racial disparities reformers, choreographers pioneering VR embodiment, innovators in holistic healthcare, decentralized finance experts, and artists focused on freedom, wellness, global justice and community care.

This cross-disciplinary group offers the precise expertise to architect decentralized infrastructure guided by those facing structural barriers daily. We understand the root challenges, technically and socially, needing remedy for economic inclusion. Our shared mission is coding compassion right into this new ecosystem now being built.

Conclusion

In sum, Caring on Chain redeems blockchain’s oft-critiqued complexity by placing its cooperative ownership and accountability into service uplifting suppressed voices to code compassion right into economic infrastructure. We distribute philanthropic agency through decentralized mechanisms guided by those facing crisis daily.

Driven by aims to address the widespread issue of limited and centralized access to aid by leveraging blockchain technology. The platform tackles economic exclusion by facilitating transparent peer coordination of resources and care assistance globally. The root of the problem lies in the traditional, often centralized, models of aid distribution that may hinder accessibility and transparency.

The challenges in solving this issue include overcoming the complexities associated with blockchain technology. Caring on Chain navigates this by exploring blockchain opportunities such as,  integrating auto-staking, smart contracts, and NFTs to streamline aid processes. The significance of the problem is underscored by the company's examples, illustrating how the platform connects donors, volunteers, and causes while fostering community engagement.

The decentralized platform offers features such as direct crypto transfers, matching donors and causes, local care networks, and NFT art sales. By incorporating dynamic care documentation through smart contracts, Caring on Chain ensures transparent and efficient distribution of assistance.

In conclusion, Caring on Chain addresses a pressing issue of economic exclusion by revolutionizing aid distribution through blockchain. The platform's cooperative ownership and accountability model aim to uplift marginalized voices and embed compassion into economic infrastructure. The proposal highlights the potential for decentralized mechanisms to empower communities facing daily crises.

Road Map

Next steps are launching a minimal viable product focused on basic care profiles, direct giving, and volunteer matching. We aim to prove cooperative, decentralized tools can tackle exclusion at root, before iteratively decentralizing pieces of legacy centralized aid

The most critical milestone is launching a minimal viable product to demonstrate core functionality proving our decentralized model uplifts marginalized groups. Key features include user profiles, transparent cryptocurrency donations, volunteer matching, and timebank incentives.

We will onboard initial pilot communities focused on building tools meeting their self-defined needs, iteratively decentralizing pieces of legacy aid systems. Getting tangible traction and feedback from these groups is vital to guide development.

Concurrently, we need to expand our legal/compliance capabilities to liaise with regulators on blockchain adoption in the social impact space. Hardening security, privacy, and accountability will reassure stakeholders such as donors, volunteers, and nonprofit partners.

Ongoing research into tokenomic designs and blockchain interoperability is needed to realize our full vision for decentralized reputation, compensation, governance, and data sharing, while formalizing basic aid flows sets the trajectory.

Outreach to artists and creators will also catalyze an NFT collection directing proceeds to our first sponsored care causes. Perfecting the artist hub and coordinating endeavors to showcase our inclusive ethos while driving engagement. Overall, proving cooperative potential through the platform,  combined with rigorous infrastructure-building, will prepare Caring on Chain for systemic change that will impact communities for the better.
