Team Mom/Dad: Help manage NWF overall, team parents coordinate things that need to be done during meets and practices. They assist our Coaches with organizing our athletes during practices, encourage positive sideline behavior, and help in other areas as needed and organized by our lead Team Parent. Team Parents are allowed to be on-track during practices thus must complete Safesport certification as well as a USATF background check to verify their ability to work with our athletes.
Digital Photographer (Video/Camera): The volunteer photographer will donate their time and talents to capture quality action and still photos, as well as some video, of the NWF Track Team at our Track Meets and some practices. The use of a professional digital camera is preferred. These photos will be used on our website social media platforms. Photographers should know how to edit photos and communicate effectively.
Statistician: The volunteer statistician will take statistics during Track Meets either on paper or a computer program then analyze and present findings to the appropriate coaches. The position would involve traveling to the various Track Meets. Statistics will aid coaches in their coaching of Team members and stats will also allow athletes to be aware of what they are doing well or not so well. Overall, stats will help our athletes be more successful. Stopwatch tracking may be necessary at meets that do not have professional timing.
Uniform Distribution: This position will work with the Registrars and be responsible for ordering and receiving uniforms from the vendor, scanning the garments into inventory, and distributing the uniforms to athletes. Good organization skills are necessary.
Athletic Trainer: Responsibilities include coverage of practice and Track Meets, including travel, treatments and rehabilitation of athletic injuries, referral to health care professionals, and other administrative duties. Ability to make sound decisions independently. Experience working as an athletic trainer in orthopedics/sports medicine is necessary. CPR-certification would be helpful.
Social Committee: Members will work with our Social Director and be charged with planning extracurricular activities for the Team to foster collegiality and deepen a sense of community among the athletes and their families. Organize social events, solicit suggestions from families for possible social and recreational activities, and maintain a calendar of events.
Fundraising/Donations/Sponsors Committee: Collaborate with Team staff & Fundraising coordinator on season-round fundraising efforts. Work with the fundraising team to prospect and solicit major and corporate donors. Identify potential business partners as sponsors. Help increase communications with supporters and current donors. Brainstorm and create additional fundraising and sponsorship opportunities to support our Team’s 35th-Anniversary formal celebration.
Spirit Sales Team: Working with our Fundraising coordinator to select NWF apparel and spirit gear from our team vendor (in conjunction with coaches and staff) to be sold online and at team practices. Manage fulfillment and on-site distribution of purchased merchandise at team practices.
Publicity/Communications: Working with our current communications and outreach coordinator. Assist with internal and external communications about NWF. Post Team news and engaging content information, as well as monitor and help build NWF’s social media reach. Contact and liaise with local news reporting agencies, schools, etc to share important information about upcoming events. Social media (particularly Facebook, Twitter, IG, and TikTok) and web-savvy persons preferred.
Coaching Assistant: Assist coaches at practices and games, as needed. Assistance is typically needed in assessing new athletes (e.g. timing distance runs, counting exercises in timed physical endurance tests), setting up hurdles, assist in getting runners lined up for race, and other related duties.
Tent Transport/Set-Up: Working with the Team Parents these volunteers would safely transport NWF tent to track meets, assist with set-up of tent in a desired space at each meet, communicate location of tent to coaches and staff, assist with the safe breakdown of the tent, and store for safekeeping until the next meet.
Website Administration Team: This role would need to have experience with Wordpress, website administration and be very tech savvy. They would work closely with our current website administrator to help keep our website up to date as well as prepare for events by setting up ticketleap events.
