Show Information Packet

We Are Monsters is a hilarious new musical that follows human kids into a monster cabaret filled with quirky monster characters. The adventurous humans uncover vegetarian vampires and rock n’ roll werewolves, gradually realizing there may be more to these monsters than meets the eye! Most importantly these monsters and kids discover the importance of friendship and celebrating in the attributes that make each of us different and unique.

Through their participation in the show, students will learn how to work together, memorize lines, dance, sing together and in tune, and most of all, learn what fun it is to put on a show!

This is all the information you need to know to decide if you want to be a part of this exciting production.

Thanks for reading and we look forward to an awesome adventure into the world of careers!

Your Directors, Amanda and Kate

On the performance day, students will arrive to the theater at 9am.  Doors will open for parents at 10:45am.  Tickets are $12 (5 and under are free) and can be purchased online (the week before) or at the door.

Every child will be cast in their own special role.  We will not have official auditions but will instead have everyone try some parts out at our first couple rehearsals.

Parent Volunteers

If you would like to volunteer to help out (with costumes, props, set, tickets, refreshments, etc.) please let us know.  We are keeping this production fairly simple, but can always use help.

For our Monday and Saturday groups of 4 year olds to 2nd graders, the production costs $198.

For our Wednesday group of 3rd-5th graders, the production costs $255.

This amount will be broken into three payments and charged to your Rhythms account on March 1, April 1, and May 1.  You can pay by check, cash or credit card.  We recommend entering your credit card in your studio account and enrolling in auto-pay.  Payments later than 5 days will incur a $15 late fee.  We are not able to give refunds.  You may want to pay your first payment at the time of registration but it is not due until March 1.

Your Production Fee includes your script and show t-shirt.  Most of your costume will also be included, though we will ask each actor to provide some basic parts of their costume.

Family Discount: families with two or more children registered for a Rhythms musical (including our younger or older shows), we offer $25 off for each child.

New Friend Discount:  If a returning actor brings a new friend to Rhythms who registers for We Are Monsters, they will get $25 off their Performance Fee.

Multiple Musical Discount: For those students who participate in our older show, Lion King, as well as We Are Monsters, you will receive $100 off your We Are Monsters production fee.

These discounts may not be automatically added to your studio director account.  Please email the studio if you don’t think your discount has been applied.

T-Shirt and Costume

Each participant will receive a show t-shirt - in the past we have used this as part of their costume, but this time they will get to wear a completely different costume.  Most students will need to provide their own black leggings (girls) or black shorts (boys) and black jazz shoes for their costume.  They should wear their black jazz shoes to every rehearsal.

Tickets can be purchased online or at the door on the day of the show.  We will not sell any tickets at the studio prior to day of the showcase.  General admission is $12.  Children 5 and under may attend for free if they sit on a parent’s lap.

Tickets may be purchased online the week before the performance.  We will send out a link at that time.

The doors will open thirty minutes before show time; parents will not be allowed into the performance prior to doors opening so saving seats before that time will not be allowed.
