2nd Annual High School Chess Cup Tournament
THREE TEAM SESSIONS; 9 TOTAL ROUNDS!

All IHSA Chess Teams are welcome! This tournament satisfies the IHSA requirement for a team tournament and will follow IHSA Rules using the Strength Order rule. Each school can register more than one team. Participants cannot be switched between the teams during the tournament.
Format: 8-Board Team section + Individual Open section
9 rounds of chess in 3 Sessions (3 G40;d5 + 3 G10;d5 + 3 G5;d0)
Scores from each Session combine to a Cup Score total
Top 3 Teams in each session earn Trophies*; PLUS a Cup Trophy for overall winning team
Individual medals to players in the individual section
*Schools entering multiple teams will only be eligible for one team trophy per Session
Seeding: G40/d5 will be seeded based on 2024 IHSA State results, as usual
G10/d5 will be seeded based on the G40/d5 Session results
G5/d0 will be seeded based on the G10/d5 Session results
Schedule: Check-in: 7:30-8:30am
3 Rounds of G40/d5 - R1-9:00a, R2-10:30a, R3-12:00 noon
3 Rounds of G10/d3 - R4-2:00p, R5-2:40p, R6-3:20p
3 Rounds of G5/d0 - R7-4:00p, R8-4:20p, R9-4:40p
Awards: ASAP (~5:00pm)

Entry fee: $120 per school, $12 per individual, School cap of $200
