RKIN CBS Whole House 5 Micron Sediment Filter

Installation Instructions:

1. Install the bracket to the wall using appropriate anchors (not included).
2. Mount filter housing head to the bracket using included bolt and water set.
3. Once the filter housing head, you can now attach your plumbing to the INLET and OUTLET with 1” male threaded adapters (not included). Plumbing a shut-off valve prior and a bypass around the unit is recommended.
4. Lubricate the filter housing O-rings with included lubricant.
5. Insert the filter cartridge into the filter housing.
6. Snugly tighten the filter housings with the included wrench (do not over-tighten).
7. Slowly turn on the water main to fill the filter housing.
8. Your system is now ready for use.

WARNING:

If this or any other system is installed in a metal (conductive) plumbing system, i.e. copper or galvanized metal, the plastic components of the system will interrupt the continuity of the plumbing system. As a result, any errant electricity from improperly grounded appliances downstream or potential galvanic activity in the plumbing system can no longer be ground through contiguous metal plumbing. Some homes may have been built in accordance with building codes, which actually encouraged the grounding of electrical appliances through the plumbing system. Consequently, the installation of a bypass consisting of the same material as the existing plumbing or a grounded “jumper wire” bridging the equipment and reestablishing the contiguous conductive nature of the plumbing system must be installed prior to your system’s use.

Maintenance:

Filter cartridges should be replaced every 12 months or as needed. Low water pressure is a good indicator of an exhausted cartridge and a need for replacement.

Cartridge Replacement:

1. Turn off the main water supply
2. Open the nearest faucet (leave open)
3. Apply wrench to housing & turn clockwise to loosen (to the left)
4. Remove and discard the old O-ring and cartridge
5. Unwrap and install a new cartridge centering on the standpipe
6. Install a new O-ring lubricated with food-grade silicone grease
7. Reinstall housing and tighten (Do not over-tighten)
8. Turn the main water supply on slowly to allow the system to fill, and the air will expel through the open faucet.
9. Close the faucet and check for leaks.
