1. Using a piece of paper that is perfectly square, fold it in half to make a triangle.

2. Place your triangle on the table so the two wider points are at the top and one point is pointing to you.

3. Take the top two corners and fold them down to make ears. (Or you can fold them up)

4. Take the point that is pointing to you and fold it up just a tiny bit.

5. Take the bottom portion of the project and fold it up about half way to make a snout.

5. Draw eyes, a nose, a mouth, a tongue, and other details. Color your dog.

1. Cut or tear a sheet of paper in half horizontally.

2. Fold the paper in half hamburger style.

3. Fold the paper in half hamburger style again.

4. On the small piece of folded up paper, draw 2 half circles. ( it should look like the letter “C” and a backwards “C”)

5. Cut along the half circles, making sure they stay connected at the center.

6. Gently open up your circle garland.

7. Decorate each circle to have a different kind of face, color neatly

Discuss with adults or siblings about why you think Paisley Paver and Rex are trying to pave all over nature.  What are your thoughts about this?

Get outside!  Think of things you can do to celebrate the earth while you are outside (with an adult or older sibling)!  Ex. Pick up litter (wear gloves!), create a bark rubbing (paper and crayon and rub it on tree bark), find a nut or a seed...and plant it!

1. Fold a sheet of paper in half.

2. On the folded edge, draw half of a heart shape. While the paper is folded, cut on the drawn line to make a cutout heart.

3. Place the cutout heart on a new sheet of paper. Color on the edges of the cutout and extend the coloring on to the new piece of paper. Once you’ve colored around the whole cutout, remove the template. Fill the rest of the page with color and / or decorations.

4. Inside the heart, write a note of gratitude to all of the members of our community that you are thankful for during this time.

5. Email a photo of your art to me @ tessa.vanravenswaay@k12.sd.us or to mary.brunick@k12.sd.us if Ms. Brunick is your teacher.

Today we will make a project to make a craft using recyclable materials. You can use boxes, papers, eggs cartons, plastic bottles and containers. Please remember to ask for help from an adult to properly clean and disinfect the materials you are going to use and also to cut them when you need it.

Once your craft is done send a picture of your masterpiece to your teacher.

  1. Fill the paper with as many textures as possible. Textures can overlap. Try to make your textures look like a completed artwork. If you have watercolor paint at home, you may be creative and paint a watercolor wash overtop of your texture rubbings.

Concept:  Rhythm 1 & 2 sounds to a beat

  1. Using things around your home, find things that have 1 or 2 sounds.
  2. Remember to clap the object name to find out how many sounds it has.
  3. Find 5 things with 1 sound
  4. Find 5 things with 2 sounds

1 Sound: Milk, Spoon

2 Sounds: Apple, Dog food
