RIVER VALLEY SCHOOL DISTRICT

Wearing a Mask Guideline

RVMS - Masks

The River Valley School District requires all students to wear a mask when they are on campus.  Exceptions are students with developmental disorders and tactile disorders or severe breathing issues which will require a medical diagnosis and documentation from the physician.

The district will provide clean cloth masks to students as needed.

Mask Pick-up

School-provided masks will be available on the bus or from a table near the entrance of the school each day.  Due to the mask cleaning process, it is not necessary for students to have the same mask everyday.

Procedure for picking up masks upon arrival to school:

  1. Student will use hand sanitizer upon entering the bus/building
  2. Students will select a mask and place the mask on their face.
  3. The student should then sanitize their hands again before moving to their bus seat or classroom.

Mask Return

At the end of the school day, as students leave the building or bus, there will be a designated mask return near the school/bus door.  Students should deposit their masks in the designated bin.

Students should do their best to leave their mask in place for the duration of the time they are in the school building/on the bus.  However there are times when it is appropriate for students to remove their masks, such as when they are:

-Eating or drinking

-Engaged in strenuous physical activity

- Outside and keeping physical distance of 6 feet from others
