Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and committed Interim Principal/Executive Director to lead our growing Year 1 charter school during a maternity leave period. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of data-driven instruction, and a passion for creating a supportive, trauma-informed school environment. This position is crucial in ensuring continued academic growth and fostering a positive school culture aligned with our vision.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Data-Driven Student Growth:
- Use data to assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with teachers to set measurable academic goals and monitor outcomes.
- Lead professional development focused on analyzing data to improve student achievement, ensuring all students are on track to meet grade-level standards.
2. Dynamic Leadership and Trauma-Informed Practices:
- Promote and implement trauma-informed and restorative practices across the school community.
- Foster a positive school culture that prioritizes emotional safety, inclusivity, and student well-being.
- Lead and support staff in developing and maintaining high expectations for both academics and behavior through restorative practices and other proactive discipline measures.
3. Enrollment and Community Engagement:
- Actively support efforts to increase student enrollment, with a focus on community outreach.
- Develop and implement strategies to attract new students and families while retaining current enrollees.
- Work with the school leadership team to ensure the school is effectively marketed in the local community.
4. Communication with Board of Directors:
- Prepare reports and updates for the Board of Directors, ensuring timely and transparent communication on school progress.
- Attend and actively participate in Board meetings, including preparing agendas and necessary documentation for discussions.
- Communicate biweekly with the Executive Committee of the Board to provide updates on key issues such as student performance, school culture, enrollment, and restorative practices.
