Week of Sept. 8
Wow! We had a busy week in 4th grade! Thank you to everyone who volunteered with Charlie Cart! We couldn’t have done it without you!The kids loved this first chance to cook at school. A lot of us even loved eating the guacamole! Please check out our Instagram for pictures of cooking this week! We also learned about how Colorado’s land has changed over millions of years. Students loved learning how Denver was once an ocean and that volcanoes were all over Colorado.
Watches - If students have a smartwatch (Apple or Gizmo), they can wear these at school to be used as a watch. Watches should be on silent all day. If students are texting, browsing apps, using the calculator, etc. they will be asked to put watches in their backpack. Phones live in students' backpacks as well. If there are issues with students using their watches during the school day, we will communicate with parents. If there is a school mode function available, that would be a great solution.
Run4Funds: This Thursday, September 14 will be our Run4Funds. This is always such a great day for kids and also an awesome opportunity to raise money for our school. Students brought home pledge sheets and information today. If you haven’t seen this, please ask your student.
4th grade's run time is from 9:00 - 9:40
4th grade will be having one theme as a grade level this year. Our theme will be "Tourists in Our Own State." We want kids to dress up as cheesy tourists, the cheesier the better! Hawaiian shirts, fanny packs, sun hats, sunglasses, etc. We will be providing leis for each student to add to their costume.
We were told that students do need to wear their run shirts on Thursday. We will give these to students on Thursday morning. They can wear their funny Hawaiian shirts over their run shirts.
Students will be very active on this day, so please make sure that they have water bottles.
Read-in: On Thursday, September 14th (Run4Funds Day) we will have a Read-in where students will be able to bring cozy items and read! Each student can bring TWO cozy items (a pillow, blanket, normally sized stuffed animal, etc.), one flashlight or reading light, and several books to read.
