Food Donations Process
Purpose: This process outlines when and how to donate leftover food, in order to minimize compost and trash in the kitchen. All remaining leftovers will be donated after lunch onsite services are completed, Tuesday-Friday.
Donate food directly from your shift if
- You have more than 2 trays of a component
- Only starches are remaining (rice, beans, noodles, etc)
- Only lettuce/greens are remaining
- If full-ish meals can not be made out of the leftovers
- It’s Friday after 1pm
*If you are unsure whether to donate or bring food back to the kitchen, please message the Lish Helpline with a list of leftovers and quantities. The Lish Ops Team will let you know how to proceed.
Catering Operations Associates will arrange with a CL to donate if:
- Our fridge is close to full
- It is the end of the week
