3rd Grade 4/14/20

As we are becoming experts on a marine animal of our choice, we will be focusing on the point of view of an author. The point of view is also known as the author’s personal attitude, feelings, or opinion on the subject.

When you read, ask yourself:

What point is the author trying to make?

What does he or she believe about the topic?

What evidence does the author give to support his point of view?

This week, we will search for the author’s point of view and compare it to how other authors feel about the same topic.

Knowing the author’s point of view helps us understand what we are reading and why we are reading it!

INDEPENDENT READING TIME:

During your independent reading this week, think about these questions:

How does what I am reading now compare to what I already thought about my topic?
How does it relate to what other authors have written about the same topic?

READING LOGS:

Please keep a record of reading steps on paper and then log them only ONCE each week. It is in the plans to do this Friday, but any day will do.

If you can’t fill it all out, that’s okay. You can always add to it later as you find more information.

Complete Google form (addition and subtraction problem solving) for Tuesday
Make sure to log in to Google Classroom to complete the Google form only if you’re doing online class work.
Study your multiplication facts for 15 minutes.
