Dorothy Fernandes

My name is Dorothy Fernandes and I have been happily employed as a Speech-Language Pathologist with Jacksonville School District #117 for 30 years.  I am very proud to be an alum of Lincoln Elementary School, the former Turner Junior High School, and Jacksonville High School (Class of 1988).  After graduation, I earned both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville.  I later returned to college to earn a master’s degree in Reading and Literacy from Benedictine University in Springfield.  I am licensed in the state of Illinois and hold the national Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) issued by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).  When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, my three grown children, my three grand-pups, as well as my brothers and sisters and their families. My favorite summer activities are camping and boating at Lake Jacksonville.
