School Site Council Meetings 25/26

Welcome and Introductions
Ms. Dominguez went over the 40 page safety plan. We had our 1st fire drill. She explained why we have them and how often. (every month). We had our blue lockdown in September, she said it went well. If there are any concerns parents/teachers can email Ms Dominguez with questions. In October we had the great California shake out drill. She explained each teacher has a job during the drill. There are also students that have “jobs” We will have another earthquake drill next year. In December we will have a red lockdown drill. We have two main safety goals. 1. Ensuring everyone has safety materials and supplies in their backpacks. Goal 2. Facility inspections will be held monthly and order will be filed as needed.
We have an anti-bullying project and a HERO project. Also a Keenan inspection was conducted. Any issues that come up will be addressed and fixed.

Safety update from Ms. Dominguez. She stated the red lockdown went very well. 2 deputies from Cerritos LASD were present. It’s preferred students stay silent during drills to hear emergency instructions. The Sheriffs made a few suggestions. It was also suggested we have a Go Bag ready for emergencies and some type of electronic device to account for students.
Mr. Marco went over student assessment scores. Mathematics growth was added. English learners are improving. Mr. Marco presents this to the Executive cabinet. He will discuss all Matrix, plans and financials.
Wittmann is gaining more students next year with the closing of Juarez Elementary. We are also getting SDC classes. The plan is to install bungalows to help with room accommodations.

Mr. Marco announced that on February 24th Dr Valencia Mayfield will be on site at 6pm to discuss school consolidation
Ms. Dominguez shared the comprehensive school safety plan with the group. She discussed the steps that they have in place. She is open to suggestions/changes.She went through all 41 pages of the plan. She mentioned we will be implementing HERO training. HERO is training for students on what to do in the case of an active shooter situation. We just had an earthquake and fire drill in January everything went smooth. We have classroom disaster supplies in each classroom. We are looking into First Aid and CPR classes for the staff. We do 2nd step practice for bullying. Everyone who comes on campus has to show ID and get an ID sticker to wear at all times. At our next meeting Ms Dominguez will discuss any changes to the safety plan.

Ms. Dominguez went over the School Safety Plan for the 26/27 school year.
There are a few changes. We will be implementing HERO which stands for Hide, Escape, Run, Overcome. All teachers have completed training for HERO for active shooter and will begin implementing the curriculum. Any item that is deemed unsafe will be immediately noted and interred into the work order system for repair by M and O. Our other goal is to continue with our monthly drills. Those include fire, earthquake blue and red drills.
Mrs. Tom asked about school suspensions. We do use Ed code 48900. We currently have zero suspensions at Wittmann at the moment. The meeting was adjourned after all members approved of the comprehensive school safety plan for 26/27. The next step goes to WOW for approval. Our next meeting we will discuss restructuring of the campus for our new incoming students.

Mr. Marco reviewed the final SPSA draft and made a motion to approve the 2026-2025 SPSA. Second by Mrs. Johnson and digital vote submitted and record. The SPSA was approved 7-0.
