JR High Bowling Event: This event is sponsored by the JRHS Student Council. Monday, October 28th from 3-5 at East Greenbush Bowling. The cost is $15 for Bowling, Beverages, 2 slices of Pizza. You must have transportation home at 5pm. See Mr. Finney for a permission slip.
The District will be offering the DMV required Five Hour Pre-Licensing course on November 5th & 7th from 6:00pm to 8:30pm in HS Room 136. All participants must currently hold a NYS Driver’s Permit. Jr High Book Club will have their first meeting on Thursday October 24 at 2:05pm in Room 225 (glass room next to Library). Any interested students in grades 7, 8, & 9 are welcome. The Burger King Scholars Program applications are now available online to all seniors. The program awards $1,000 to $50,000 scholarships to be used for educational expenses. Information is available in the Guidance Office or www.bkmclamorefoundation.org/WhatWeDo/ScholarsProgram . The application deadline is December 15, 2019.
The American Legion is announcing its High School Oratorical Scholarship Program, “A Constitutional Speech Contest”. Any high school student may present a speech to win up to $18,000. Information is available in the Guidance Office or online at http://www.legion.org/oratorical/contests. The deadline is November 16, 2019.

High School juniors and seniors are eligible to participate in FIRE’s (Foundation for Individual Rights in Education) Free Speech essay contest. To enter, students must submit an essay between 800 and 1,000 words on the provided topic. One $10,000 first prize, one $5,000 second prize, and three $1,000 runner-up prizes will be awarded. FIRE will accept essay contest entries through December 31, 2019. To enter, visit www.thefire.org/contest or pick up information in the guidance office.
