Role Title: UWCGB Promotions Team Lead

Promotions Team Description:

The United World Colleges National Committee of Great Britain (UWCGB) is responsible for selecting students to represent Great Britain at UWC schools and colleges, and preparing them and their families for their UWC journey. Promoting UWC and its opportunities to potential UWCGB applicants is integral to supporting our mission and vision. The Promotions team works closely with the Trustees of UWCGB and the Selections team to raise awareness of UWC and its opportunities to potential UWCGB applicants.

Role Description:

UWCGB is organised into teams (or “Task Forces”), which deliver our core aims. Part of the Promotions team’s responsibilities is to ensure that awareness of UWC and its opportunities is raised to potential UWCGB applicants. The Promotions Team Lead will coordinate and lead the Promotions team in order to carry out this work. This volunteer experience would be particularly suited to someone with social media, marketing or communications experience.

This role may vary depending on the team’s needs, but is likely to include:

• attending Promotions team meetings on a fortnightly basis;
• overseeing and developing UWCGB’s promotions and marketing strategy;

• assisting with the preparation and delivery of webinars;

• providing status and progress reports to the Board;
• administering the Promotions team budget;
• onboarding, coordinating, and retaining of Promotions volunteers,

• overseeing the preparation and posting of social media and newsletter content;

• attending events such as Orientation; and

• overseeing the coordination of direct outreach activities to e.g. schools, educational fairs and community organisations.

• an ability to build and maintain relationships with schools and teachers across Great Britain (essential); and

• experience and/or knowledge of the UWC movement (desirable).

Role Time Commitment: 3 hours per week (flexible).

Role Duration: Ongoing
