Programming Ideas for Religious Students and Communities

To save you from reinventing the wheel, we made this database of programs for Jewish life in college.  If you’d like to edit or add to it, click here -- otherwise, feel free to scroll or search away!

(A cautionary tale: one rabbi on campus spoke about his student board and their Shabbat programming: they had amazing promotional materials, exquisite menus, great post-dinner events, and got more students coming through the door, but they (and the people coming) don't care or know any more about Shabbat, what it means, or why they do it. These student leaders, he said, had become really good programmers, but not better Jewish leaders. So programs are important, they’re the vehicle through which most things happen - but don’t forget to also focus on the “why”, and on people, and on the power of Judaism to inform and inspire people’s lives.)
